I am American living in England with my dh and 2 sons. My oldest son, aged 5 is going to be studying America in the next few weeks. I offered to bring in Choc Chip cookies for the class. His teacher asked if I could do a 10 minute talk on America. I was thinking of maybe Thanksgiving or Independence Day and was really struggling with it. So anyway I was wondering if you had any really good ideas demonstrating American culture that would be appropriate for 5 and 6 yr olds.

I am sure the British would really enjoy a talk about us gaining independence from them! LOL ;)
Thanksgiving would be interesting, you could talk about how they came over, couldn't find food, the Indians helped and they celebrated..you could have turkey sandwiches.
