Okay, so I was so proud of Tristan's biking adventure, right? Well, yesterday he goes riding his bike with his dad, and as they were heading back to the car he loses control of the handle bars and takes a FACE PLANT into the pavement! The handle bars flip around, and his little hand goes under them as it hits the ground, so his hand gets squished underneath. Thank God he had his helmet on. As it was, when he hit the ground his helmet was pushed up, and his forehead just scraped the pavement and he had this huge knot/raspberry on it. His hand is all cut up. Poor baby. My (Firefighter) husband said "Man, it got to ME when I saw him hit the ground, you would have FLIPPED OUT!" I would have too. Just looking at him when he got home had me practically in tears. Sigh...

The good news is he is fine now, and still excited about riding his bike! Man, oh man...

OUCH!!! Poor Tristan... I'm glad to hear that he's doing okay though and not too afraid to go back on his bike. It seemed as if my middle dd was always falling off from her bike. Nothing awful ever happened to her but a few scraped knee's and arms/elbo's. If there was a patch of sand on the street, she'd be the one to hit it, skid out and fall. LOL I remember when she was 15 I was still teasing her about putting her training wheel's back on. LOL I was horrified when she started driving a CAR! I'm glad to say that she drives a car better than she rides a bike. :) (Just wait) :) Anyway, I'm glad that he's okay.

So glad he is okay and still wants to ride his bike. :) I get that horrible feeling in my stomach just thinking about a little one taking such a digger on a bike. :( I fell off my bike when dh and I were first married and I broke my toe! Dh still laughs when we talk about it, but it was dark and I tried to go up a curb that was not there and I totally wiped out! :o

Man I can imagine how your dh and you felt....yikes....I am so glad that your ds is still so excited about riding, sometimes they don't bounce back that well....Kids, the bumps and bruises, the yelling and screaming...and the hugs and kisses....LOL...what a fun rollercoaster we are on...

So glad to hear that Tristan is ok. I know that it must have been scary for him. I remember when I ran into a parked car (yeah I know LOL!) when dh and I first got over here. We didn't have the car yet, and I hadn't ridden a bike in years. It was scary falling, but luckily I didn't get hurt.

Poor Tristan!:( Glad to hear he's ok. When dd was learning to ride she drove into a drainage ditch on Grammy's farm. Didn't get hurt but was quite the muddy mess. I think she was more embarrassed then anything. She was crying and saying "mommy the chickens are laughing at me, make them stop!' It was all I could do not to laugh myself, she looked so comical.

I hope this doesn't diminish the thrill of riding for him. My dd doesn't like to fall, so she is very protective about where she will ride her bike. LOL

I remember when I learned how to ride my bike I was constantly walking around with scabbie knee's and elbow's. LOL It never stopped me from wanting to ride my bike though. Thinking back, I was quite a clutz when it came to riding my bike. LOL :)
