Anyone catch the OSCARS?

I love the oscars, what a sucker! Enjoyed last night, cheered for Julia Roberts, thought she really deserved it and loved her Valentino dress, what a stunner! Also was pleased to see Russell Crowe (yummy!) and Gladiator win, great movie. Was glad Kate Hudson DIDN'T win, don't get the hype on her at all, lol! Anyone else have oscar fever??

I watched the whole thing! I just love that awards show. I did try to catch the pre-show on E! and Joan Rivers disgusted me so much I turned it off until the network starting airing. Joan Rivers was completely foul and no way could I have left it on with my kids anywhere near.

Ok, off the soapbox. I really wanted to see Tom Hanks win. I just love his movies. Gladiator is not a movie for me. Julia was radiant. I am also glad Kate didn't win this award too! I also liked Steve Martin as host.

Loved it! I was just a grinning fool throughout Julia's speech! LOL What was up with Russell Crowe scowling throughout the whole show though??? I thought Steve Martin did a great job. Considering I didn't see ANY of the movies nominated, I loved the show.

I watched some of it.The Illini game was on so we had to watch them lose first. :( anyway I loved the dress the lady that won best costom desiner had on. Very elegant. I wonder if she designed it as well. I was glad to see Julia Roberts win she is such a wonderful actress. :) Steve Martin was a blast as host. I think the best part though was when they honered that guy for cineima photography. He did some very old popular movies and seemed to really appreciate the award more then anyone.

You haven't seen Galdiator? Erin Brockovich?? Traffic??? You need to get out more woman, at least to your local video store, lol!

I agree about Russell Crowe brooding, I don't think he liked Steve Martin's comment about him trying to pick up Dame Judy Dench, lol! It's all part of his macho persona I think, but I still think he's yummy, lol!

well, until I feel asleep...LOL...Loved Juila Roberts Dress.....wow....and thought that Russel Crowe was strange...I did see Galdiator and it was alright...not Oscar worthy in my opinion...Loved The Patriot More and it didn't even get nominated......but oh well.....I think that Tom Hanks was probably really good in Cast away...I must get to the video store...LOL....

I too saw Joan Rivers on E...she is wacky...I loved her hair, but on someone else please, she also looked like she had, had a face lift or something...she was rude about all the asians there...said something about how international it was...she's just strange....then she kissed the CEO's bottom literally on TV....YIKES....Melissa looked more adult than her Mother...

I watched and thought Steve Martin was great. I also think Joan Rivers is annoying but that is JMO! I was glad that Russel Crowe won but boy he didn't look like a happy camper at all the jokes did he? I liked Gladiator but I agree - I didn't think it was deserving of Best Picture. Wasn't it last year that American Beauty won? I saw that movie and thought it was terrible- couldn't stand it! DId anyone else chuckle at what Bjork was wearing? Was that awful or what?

Watch it every year. Love it even when I hate it. I've only seen Castaway, and Erin Brockivich and loved them both. Wanted to rent Gladiator but haven't yet. Missed the first 1 1/2 hours while at church. Have to watch the tape tonight after Ally.

Joan Rivers (Renee!! Hello! Face lift Queen!!) annoys me.
I didn't like Julia's dress like everyone else did. I did love Renee Zweidglkgjfldkjfs yellow one, though it got panned.
Gladiator is not my kind of movie either, but it was good in it's form. Erin Brokovich was pretty good. A good rental, I thought. Didn't see the others either.
I don't get out much either Ann. Did see Billy Elliot. LOVED it! Not even nominated. Oh well, what do I know?

K, I needed to see the swan dress so I did a search and all I have to say is YIKES! LOL! She actually laid an egg on the red carpet! =(:-o)

Didn't see the show, but I just wanted to say that I was never a big Julia Roberts fan, but I was REALLY impressed with her in Erin Brockovich!

Also, I saw Joan Rivers on some late show recently and she was awful. Don't like her at all. And she looked like h-e-double toothpicks, IMHO.

She said a friend of hers made the dress for her. Did it have something to do with the song she sang? She kept going up and down when she was singing. Oh well, here I sit in my penguin jammies.
