We're celebrating ds's 5th birthday on the 30th, and we're using a Spiderman theme. Here's what I've got - ya'll tell me if you have anything great to add.

Invitations: I used blue cardstock as the background. I cut a smaller sheet of red paper and put it on top of the blue. I used a stencil to trace a web and a spider in silver on the red paper. Over the red paper I placed velum with the party info printed in blue. I punched holes and tied the velum on with string (string seemed kinda web-like to me).

Party place: My work is letting me use the facility at no charge.

Activities: The center I work at has Playstation and Nintendo, a movie room with a big screen TV, an indoor playground, a small basketball court and kitchen facilities. I've printed off some Spiderman coloring sheets and we'll play limbo.

Snacks: I have a spider candy mold from Halloween and I'm making blue and red ice cubes out of Kool-aid, and I'll put those in Sprite for the kids. I'll replace the labels with ones that I've made that say Spider Venom. Regular soft drinks for the adults. Trey has requested choclate spiders, too, so I guess I'll make some of those. I'll make cookies and brownies. I'm going to use a stencil and powdered sugar to make a spider print on the brownies. Maybe rice krispie treats, too. My cake lady is doing a Spiderman cake. I'm not big on ice cream with the cake - is this a Northern thing, or just me? I might have some bowls of chips, too. I considered pizza, but don't think we'll need it at 2:00pm.

Decorations: A couple of mylar Spiderman balloons and red and blue latex. I have a suction cup Spiderman that I'll stick somewhere. I bought Trey a Spiderman shirt to wear.

Favors: I'm not sure yet, probably just clear plastic favor bags with some kind of a cute tag. I have sheets of Spiderman stickers to give out and some of those suction cup balls, but that's it so far. Candy, of course. I have 2 babies that I'll make separate bags for if they come. Probably Gerber graduates juice boxes and fruit snacks for them in their sacks. Oh, that's an idea for the older kids, has anyone seen Spiderman fruit snacks?

OK, anyone NOT convinced yet that I'm neurotic?!

Wow!! Everything sounds so neat!! What a fun party...and what a great mom!!

I haven't seen Spiderman fruit snacks, but I haven't really looked for them either. I'll let you know if I see anything else that would go along with it. :)

Sounds great! My kids were never into having parties. They just liked to do the family dinner.

I'm pretty sure I've seen them at Wal-Mart. I'll check again to see what brand they are.
Sounds like you've covered everything else! WOW! Fun party! If you like Apple Jacks, you can buy enough boxes to get the Spider Man prize inside! It's a water squirter that fits around their wrist.. really cute!! (I love Apple Jacks, so dd has a couple! She won't touch the stuff!)

Have fun, and don't forget to breathe!!! :D

How about some small plastic spiders for the treat bags...or spider rings??? (Check at a party store ....) Also how about having the kids stand in a circle, and toss a big ball of yarn around and across the circle to make a huge web! (They can sit on the floor to do this also.) You could put out black circles, (or black paper plates) wiggle eyes, strips of construction paper, and let them create their own spiders. Through the top, loop some elastic for the "boing boing" effect! LOL Sounds like a really fun party.

Oh yeah...you could show them how to make a spider web on a paper plate by using a circle pattern to put some paint on the plate (big circle of paint...smaller circle....smaller...smaller (get it) until you get to the middle of the plate. Then the kids take a popsicle stick or toothpick and start from the outside to draw lines to the inside. They go all around the circle, and it looks like a web. (Not too much paint so it wouldn't be too messy, and would dry quickly.)
