Good luck to you. I started the carb addict's diet about two weeks ago. It lasted for about two or three days. I did really well on it the first time. Has anyone else ever heard of this diet? It is not the same as the Dr. Adkins diet, but sort of based on the same principle.

Sounds like you and your dd had fun. I hope the weather turns better for you.

Good morning or should I say afternoon! It's cold and breezy here but it's sunny so that's an improvement. Not much planned for the day , however, we are being lazy. We painted this morning and now both of them are asleep ( which is amazing) and I am going to clean and when they awaken we will probably do puzzles and work on phonics more w/ my 4 yr. old.

Leigh I did that diet over the summer last year. I did very well on it by adding in 3 miles of walking daily. Then I fell, broke my ankle, and was out of commission for months. So I got lazy and fat again. But, it did work for the time being. I am planning on starting it up again this summer.

Okay Renee, YOU GO GIRL! I haven't eaten yet, just my coffee, so I will do a protein shake in your honor, and do my best to be a "good" girl today (see, this back to the food thread, why are foods "good" and "bad" is this why we struggle with food? Because we secretly want to be "bad girls" or is it simply no willpower!?) and let's let each other know how the day goes.

On Saturday a good friend of mine had a Spa Day at her house. She had a friend in town who is a stylist, and she gave manicures, pedicures and such. My toes look lovely if I do say so myself! The best part, though I think you and dd doing it together sounds great, was NO KIDS. I was there for five hours! She made great food, and we just hung out, chatted uninterrupted, got our pedicures...lovely!

Have a great day, all!

Good luck witht the diet. I tried carb addicts, because I certainly am addicted. It worked great. Pounds fell off, but I just could not see myself doing that for life. It was hard to cram most of your nutrition into that one carb meal.

I'm taking meridia now and have lost 20 pounds. It makes you feel full. Hopefully I'll be so used to the smaller portions that I won't go back to "Good old American sized meals" LOL! I've experiemented by not taking it for a week and ate the same amounts of food as on it. This way I eat what I want with the rest of the family, just not near as much and I can live with that.

Not too much going on here. Have been busy playing with the boys this morning, plan to get them down for naps soon and then I hope to clean. I was going to do it yesterday but we decided to take off at the last minute to watch my lil bro's hockey game and do some shopping. Found lots of stuff at Old Navy for dh and ds's, but nothing for me so I splurged later on a purse! :)

Renee - Good luck on your diet! Seems like I have been on a million, but have never tried Slim Fast. Let us know how it goes! :) Your spa day morning with dd sounded great!! Wish I had a dd to do that with, but my ds's do like green polish on their toes so I can't complain! LOL!

Have a great one, everyone!

Good luck on the diet Renee... It seems like I'm ALWAYS dieting but I've really got to get down to business and DO something before summer. LOL I'm anxious for our nice weather to come back so I can get back outside and start my walking again. I really miss being able to do that. I hope you see some good results REAL FAST!!! :)

Just to add that I'm SO anxious for my day to be over with. :( I woke up this morning to a child who's mom is NOT working (doesn't have a job) being dropped off at 7:00. This is my last week with her so I'm supposing that she's taking advantage of the State paying for her day care and wants to get every possible minute she can out of me. LOL It doesn't help that this child is having "issues" with just about everything we've been doing today. (he doesn't WANT to do anything were doing.) I feel like I'm ready for the funny farm. LOL Than I go into my laundry room to throw some laundry in the washing machine only to find that my laundry room is flooded AGAIN. We JUST had the pipes cleaned out two months ago! Ugh... Thinking it was still under warranty I called the place that last did it and they tell me that it only had a 30 day guarantee and of course, it will cost me ANOTHER $l05.95 to have them come back out to do it again. Ugh!!! They send a very nice guy out... and I can barely understand what he's saying because he's speaking another language... At the same time the kids are running around crazy taking advantage of the fact that somebody else is here. Ever have one of those day's where you feel like every time you turn around something else goes wrong?

I AM looking forward to a nice evening out with my sister and a cousin who I haven't seen in about 3 years. Hopefully, nothing happens while I'm gone. LOL I've GOT to get myself in a better mood though before I go... otherwise I'm afraid they'll probably just leave me at the restaurant. LOL Hope you are all having a better day than I am and sorry for using the board to vent! :)

Renee....try blending your Slimfast with a few ice cubes. Mmmmmm.....yummy and almost like you're having a milkshake.

My hubby and I have done the carbo addicts diet for a few months. The pounds came off easily...and I didn't crave the carbo foods. But, I too couldn't see doing it forever. I liked having the "reward" meal and that made it easier. I usually take a salad and tuna, or ham, etc. for lunch so that is easy enough. However, I get SICK of eggs for breakfast!!!! My dh is still quite strict on the diet, and just skips breakfast. I can't do it...gotta eat something in the a.m. I have found this to be the most effective diet I've ever tried. A friend of mine just eliminated bread (and bread products) and also had good results...but could eat the fruits, etc.

Here's another diet thing I did that worked really well for me (and if I already said this, please forgive me, my brain is...well, you know) I thought I'd share. I had one day a week, I picked Sunday where I could eat anything I wanted. Cake, pie, chips, whatever. I kept strictly to the diet the other six days, but on that one day I went nuts. I found a couple of things, one; you can't gain all your weight back in one day, and two; after a very short time, I didn't crave the junk nearly as much as I thought I would. It ended up that maybe I would have a slice of pizza or maybe a cookie, but I didn't pig out. I felt really good because I didn't feel deprived, and it made the rest of the week easier because I knew I could reward myself at the end of the week without feeling guilty.

PS It's 5:00 here, and I'm really hungry! I had my shake this morning, a sandwhich for lunch, and a little snack this afternoon. I have a rehearsal tonight, so I'll probably just munch a little something before I go, and if I can avoid the treats tonight....

I know what you mean. I think that if I could find that soy flour and make some pancakes, french toast, etc. I could stay on this diet a lot better, but I can't find any of that stuff over here. I am hoping when I get back to the states, I can find it.

Sorry to hear that you had a bad day. I hope you enjoy the night with your sis and cousin.
