Renee, that's great. Keep up the good work :thumb:

Ann, I know how hard it is to get the work outs in....between running around for yourself, the kids, work etc., it's really difficult.

I am still going to Curves 3-4 times a week, and have been going for walks. I know I've lost a little weight, but I am definately toning. A lot of people have made comments about it. Next week I start pre-camp, and then camp the week after. I always lose weight during the summer because I am extra busy, and they serve lunches every day which include tons of fresh fruit and salad.

Well, just did 4 miles on the treadmill in an hour, not break neck speed but a 15 minute mile. Did sweat buckets, but not sure if I really got my heart rate high enough. Whenever I get going fast enough to get my heart rate up, it really starts to kill my ankle...darn thing is taking so long to be 100% :( But I still keep plugging away! LOL

Good going, ya'll!

I've lost 17 lbs. and just threw out all of my fat clothes! I'm determined that I will NOT get back in them. I had on a shirt that was too big yesterday and I HATE the way clothes that are too big feel - yuck.
I have a Liz dress hanging in the bathroom that is my incentive - I LOVE that dress!!
I can get in on but no way could I sit down in it yet!!

:yippee: You gals are doing great! Keep it up!!

Ann, is there something less strenuous you could do to keep from inflaming your ankle? Not good to push it while it's still healing... it'll take a while, unfortunately. Didn't you say you've tried Pilates? Why not go for that instead?

Heck, walking sometimes tweaks it! LOL I baby it on the treadmill that's why I am not really getting my heart rate up as high as it should be. Pilates works good except for the stuff where you are laying down with your feet on the ground, knees bent..that really tweaks the ankle.

Well after a week with no exercise, (the two little ones just got over hand, foot, and mouth) I'm back on track. I just got back from the gym, I did a mixed class of aerobics and resistance work. I'm not losing any weight but I'm not gaining either. I need to tackle the diet end of this weight struggle.

Ann, are you doing strengthening exercises for your ankle?

Sheryl:)

Ann here are two exercises that will work all muscles in your ankle and foot.

Sit in a chair with a towel spread out on the floor at your feet. Put your feet over the towel and start scrunching it up using your toes.

Sitting in a chair pick marbles up with your toes.

My podiatrist assigned these exercises when I started having tendon problems in my feet. Everytime I stop doing the exercises the problem slowly crops back up again. He said that these two exercises will work all the muscles in your foot and ankle.

Sheryl, how are they now? Did they have a severe case of it? When my oldest son was almost 2 he got the most severe case I had ever seen. I had a few blisters on his feet and his hands, but his tongue and throated were loaded with them. His tongue actually discoloured because of all the blisters. It was terrible watching him. He wanted to eat and drink, but couldn't for days.

Marla, the kids are ok now. Dd had some pretty bad sores in the back of her throat and the back of her tongue, some on her feet and none on her hands. Ds had tons in his throat. He came down with it first and I thought he was just teething for the first few days, then thought he had strep. They were both pretty miserable for about 7 days each. I had never even heard of this one until now. Thanks for asking,
Sheryl:)
