OK, I'm not panicing, I'm breathing........I just got my schedule for grad school and they want me to take 14 hours this Fall - all of which are either at 8am or at night! I work now, I have kids to take care of.......why can't they schedule these d@#% classes from 9am - 3pm when my kids are in school? I'll be doing my clinical practicum too, which (please God) better be at a decent hour!

Yay for you!! I think it's great that you're doing this. I, myself, would love to go to Grad school but I've let kids, work and a somewhat busy schedule keep me from going. Plus for my degree I would have to travel too far to school. It just seems impossible for me so I admire you for doing it. Go for it, girl! :happydnc:

Donna, sorry to hear that your schedule isn't what you had hoped it would be, but it's terrific that you are going to grad school. You've gotten great advice so far, you can do it!!

The reason that they don't schedule the classes at your convenience is a mystery.....Don't they solicit feedback?? How dare they make their plans without consulting you??? LOL

This is going to be another challenge that you meet. You'll do it because nothing can get you down. Go Donna. We are all rooting for you. What courses are you taking? How long is the whole program? C'mon!! Dazzle me with details!!! (I need to be reminded why I'm dreading that step myself! LOL)

Congratulations, Donna! How exciting! That's too bad that the schedule isn't better. I hope you figure something out that will work for you!

The reason is probably that the majority of the grad students are working 9-5. But maybe they need to check the demographics and see if there aren't a lot of students like you, who need the middle-of-the-day schedule.

Also a lot of grad students works as assistants to the professors, so they need to be available to work from 9-4.

Just be glad you're not a hospital INTERN. Then you'd be working around the clock!

Good luck with it. At least you can do your homework during the quiet time. Quite often the homework is a lot more hours than the classroom time.

Good luck with Grad school!

I'll be finishing BA in dec and I have basically talked my self out of grad school. I never wanted to do it really but the last 2 months I was seriously thinking about it. I've had enough.

I give you all the credit in the world. I think if I ever do it I'll only do like 2 classes at a time. We'll see come January if I change my mind.

Just remember one thing ...always try do do something just for you...Even if it's just sitting back and watching a mussy movie by yourself ( no Kids etc.) oh and don't forget the quart of Ben and Jerry's to go with it. Believe me it helps!!!
LOL.

It will be the best two years of your life when it comes to homework-NOT!!! LOL

They do schedule their classes around full-time working parents. It doesn't help you at all though seeing you are doing this mostly by yourself. Good luck though-you can do it!!!!
