I am now around 24 weeks...Things are going good. The only thing that I am wondering about is:

Did any of you who had babies experience throbbing legs at night, or anyone experiencing it now?

My lower legs and ankles just throb all night.

Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions about what I can do for this...

Are you on your feet a lot because of your dck's? Just wondering if that might be causing it.

I never experienced throbbing legs, but maybe someone else has. Maybe ask the dr the next time you are there.

I've never been pregnent , bit I would sayit could be either from standing to much....when I started working out my legs did that. for two nights.

It also may be poor circulation ...which my mother had and she dank tonic water to help it had that Quanite( spell?) in it.

I never had that happen and haven't heard of anyone else. What did you find out?

Is it a mild form of "restless leg syndrome"....??? I get that same sensation every now and then. It's not really painful, but quite annoying. What helps me is the get up, and have a glass of milk. I'm not sure why this helps, but it works for me. I've wondered if I wasn't getting enough calcium in my day, so now I take a calcium supplement, and that seems to be helping. I had terrible problems with sciatica when I was pregnant, and also developed carpal tunnel in my right hand with both pregnancies. Went right away after delivery...strange!

I guess we aren't a whole lot of help Rhonda. I never had that with either of mine, but did have leg cramps at night. Had to increase my calcium. Just check with your ob/gyn and let us know what he/she says.

Well I called my DR. and he just said to try and sit a little more often. Not to be on them as much.. I also rubbed some leg and muscle rub from Avon on last night and that seemed to help...

Thanks for your help, hopefully it goe away after this baby is born, only about 18 more weeks to go...

Bizymum:

My midwife told me that if I started having any problems in my legs, I should eat a couple of bananas a day. Some afflictions in your legs are because of a lack of Potassium. You get some potassium from milk which is why it will help also, but a banana or two will give you a real boost!

Good Luck.

Anybody who isn't pregnant but gets leg cramps or charley horses this will work for you too!

Okay Rhonda, now you know what you have to do....have your dh give you a leg massage every night ;)
