I have a pretty cool day in front of me today. I have to pick up all my work and my grade from my course. Then some running around--who could ever believe that I would run out of coffee?? (there was enough for one pot left, so I'm okay for the moment...LOL). Then I'm off to meet Amy. I'm bummed that Renee can't come, but her hands are pretty full. :( I'll let you all know how it goes. Remember, I am the one you need to believe about what is said and done. Don't listen to her!!! LOL
I hope you all have a good day! :)

We are going to have a slower paced day today. Our week has been crazy busy! Hoping for some pool time and to put the vacuum cleaner to use that has been sitting out since Sunday. lol
Got to tackle my house today. Dh didn't do much the week ds and I were at camp and since I've been back I've done gardening and ironing so the house has been neglected.
Cathy and Amy post pics, yeah right! How fun that you're meeting. We all drove up toward Jasper last night where we were meeting and old friend from HS and my college roommate for one semester for dinner. She and her family were renting a cabin there for a couple of weeks. She's from Chicago. Ds was just beside himself not wanting to go. I told him she had a son his age and he was going. Of course we had a great time, especially my friend and I going down memory lane.
On the way home, ds was in great spirits. Come to find out he was relieved to know that this was a person I actually knew. (Though I know I told him this) I had been e-mailing her back and forth concerning this meeting and ds thought it was one of you girls on the board that I was meeting. He said he thought I was crazy for wanting to meet someone from the net. He said they could be a psyhco. I thought it was too funny. At least I know that all those talks about not meeting anyone from the net have made an impression.
Now I have a problem. How do I plan on meeting all of you in Dallas for the IB reunion and still maintain my position on not meeting people from the net. It's going to be kinda like "do as I say not as I do".
Kat, isn't part of the reason that he shouldn't meet someone from the net is that he is a child. You are an adult. Sometimes adults do things that children aren't allowed to do.
Going to be a hot one here today - mid 30's, so not much planned today, except hang out infront of the grocery store freezer section LOL.
Cathy - so cool that you are have your 2nd IB meeting now.
Kat - you have a Jasper in the US too? It's a major resort area in Canada.

Who is meeting in Dallas?????? What IB reunion?????? For real or is all this just speculation?!
Pam Lester posted a little while ago that they are planning an IB reunion in Dallas in the spring of 2003.

For real. Check PamL's post "It's in the works!"
Ann, I know the whole adult/child reasoning, it's just I like to show by example. It's not like I'm meeting one person in some isolated location though, heck I'm bringing dh. I'll just really have to convince them you're no psycho.
It's a gloomy day here so far, but it's not yet 7 am so maybe the clouds will go away. I have 4 dck's today. Today is the last day I will have 2 of them as they are moving- literally leaving my house this afternoon and driving out of here. I have had then since Feb, just a few days a week. I'm really going to miss the little boy as he is just the sweetest thing! Has one of those faces that just lights up when he smiles.
I'm tired today- stayed up too late and had to get up too early! :\ Hopefully I can get to bed earlier tonight.
Have fun with Amy today Cathy- hopefully you will be able to make it Renee! :)

you really don't do anything that your ds isn't allowed to do? WOW! you are a way better mommy! LOL I do all sorts of things that my kids aren't allowed to do or isn't safe. Drink, stay out late, drive, vote, eat what I want, handle sharp objects! LOL

Hi ya all,
Going to be a nice day again today. Supossed to get up to 28 C.
I have 2 dck's today. So we will be spending time outside. I also did some laundry this morning and dusting. Just have to vacum now, and figure out something for lunch and supper.
A friend wants me to a La Leche Leaguemeeting with her tonight. So I may go just to get out of the house for a little while then after we will go out for a piece of cheese cake. Just hope DH doesn't mind that I want to go out.
I still haven't found a dress for the wedding that I am the Matron of Honor in, the wedding is on the 27th but we are leaving for it on the 23rd so I guess I 'd better get on it.
Sure wish we had an outdoor pool that we could go to today.
Cathy: hope you have a good time with Amy...Renee hope you made it..
Kat- I was wondering the same thing as Fern, DO you have a jassper inthe US, I just going to Jasper here in Canada it is so pretty.
Good luck with your supper tonight Ann.

Well isn't that cool about the "official" IB meeting!!! I will have to watch as things unfold. I must've been in Montreal when that was posted. Has anything else been decided yet (hotel, dates, etc)?

Finally a break from the 100 degree heat!! Its in the upper 70's or low 80's right now. I might have to change into jeans!
Pretty calm day here. Did bookwork all morning. I asked dh last night if he would help and all I got was "maybe sometime". All I can say is , it doesn't look good! 8o
Yesterday I met with the gal that was looking for someone to help with her daycare. She had the paperwork and everything ready for me to fill out. There was no interview--I had the job. I will probably start next Thursday (which reminds me I need to call her and let her know what appts. I have scheduled for next week.) She said it wasn't a big hurry to start. When school starts my hours will be during the time my kids are in school. The best part is that my dd, who will be in kindergarten 3 days a week, and my ds, who will be in Head Start 4 mornings a week, can come with me to work. I don't have to find other daycare for them and I don't have to pay for them!!! The pay is less than I had at the preschool per hour, but if I don't have to pay daycare it evens out.
I was hesitant when I first walked in because it is a small scale set up, not a professional look to it at all. While I was talking with her a mom and one of the little boys I had in preschool walked in. (I didn't know he went there for daycare). The mom had given me a great reference (which is why she didn't interview me). Suddenly I felt so much better about the job. :) She also said I am welcome to do preschool activities a such with the kids.
Yesterday we also butchered chickens in the afternoon. This year I'm just not as motivated to do them as I have been in previous years.
Well I best get through the rest of the posts before dh gets off work.

:yippee: Congrats on the new job! :D I hope it works out well for you. Does this lady run a home daycare, or is it just a small priviatly owned daycare?
Fern, Yes, we have a Jasper, Arkansas. Located in the Arkansas Grand Canyon. Home of the world famous Dog Patch USA LOL. Unfortunately it's been closed for about 10 years. Too bad. I loved going there every year. Everything was straight out of the comic strip.
Linda, great news about the job. I read a post from you about it on another thread and wondered how I'd missed this. Just needed to read on.

Thanks! The daycare is in a house but she doesn't live there. Actually I think her mom owns it and this gal and her younger sisters help her mom run it. I will find out more when I actually start working there I'm sure.
(Thanks Ann & Kat, too.)
