When you start your computer, press either F7 or F8 while it is booting up.(I don't remember exactly when, so keep trying) That will take you to an options screen that allows you to start in safe mode.

Good Luck with the virus!! I just had to reformat my drive two months ago because of an Email virus.

Thank you so much!!! I've got to try and figure out these removal directions - they are so frustrating. They tell me to go here and download this, but there isn't an option for the download, blahblahblahblah.......... ugh!! :\

Sorry you had to redo yours - I hope I won't because I don't even know what reformatting a drive means!!! :lol: :\

Ann helped me out with this a few months ago...

Safe Mode: Shut off computer for 20 seconds. Start it, then immediately start pressing F8 over and over. A black screen will come up. Type in 3 for Safe Mode, then enter and it will restart in safe mode. Good luck!!!

btw - When I had the virus I downloaded a free Virus Scan at Norton's and then followed their directions step by step when they found the virus on my computer. Easy to follow directions and I thought it was easier than anything I tried to do in the past considering I am computer illiterate! LOL!
