I'm in need of ideas to make a ladybug costume for my 7 year old son who is in a school play on April 12. Any ideas out there? Due to a VERY busy schedule, it can't involve a great deal of time. I thought he could dress in black sweatpants and a hooded sweatshirt for the base. Then something for the orange/red body/wings with spots? Don't know what to use, however. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.

I made a ladybug costume with ds a couple months ago. I am not sure if this will work because I don't know how complex it needs to be. For the body/wings: We took a paper grocery bag and made it into a "vest" by cutting out a neck shape and arm holes so he could just slip it on and off. We then used red poster board and cut out the shape for the body. We drew a line down the middle, glued it to the back of the vest and then glued black circles all over that. I also glued black construction paper onto the brown bag when we were done to cover any brown parts that showed, but you could also paint that part. As I said, this may not be what you are looking for but it may help spark a new idea of what you could do? Good luck!!
