I am a firm believer in thank you notes. That's how I was raised and that is how I am trying to raise my dds. We recently went on a trip to Montreal where dds saw lots of family members. So, they wrote thank you notes to thank for gifts, the visit, etc. SIL calls to tell me to "stop wasting my time" getting them to write thank yous to her!! She was half joking, but said I would never see a thank you from her or her kids, a phone call was good enough. I said that was fine, but we write thank you notes. What do you do?

My dks absolutely write thank you notes....always have! When they were little, obviously, I sent them. As they grew older they do as much of the note as they are able...draw a picture...sign their name...copy letters that I provide...and now (oldest ds) write his own notes. I think it's a nice thing to do...but I know many people who don't send them.

My kids always wrote Thank You notes... it's just the right thing to do. 8o I've given/sent a lot of gifts and never received a Thank You... so I know that they're a lot of people out there who don't. When I think of all the money and time spent looking for that just right gift, I can't help but feel that the least the receiver can do is to take the time to send a Thank You card out. :)

Yes! Very important to me too!! Dks are still young, but I have always written notes and had them draw a little picture or "sign" their name with their scribbles. Oldest ds can sign his name and when he can write on his own he will take over that part of it, too.
ALWAYS! I know a lot of people who don't do it, but in this house we always do and will continue to.

I have had many people comment to be that they cannot believe I send thank you notes -- or that we send them from/for my son. I believe very strongly in doing so.
For holidays and birthday, since we have a pretty big family, it seems like the children just receive so many things! So, we will try to do three a day. If I sense my son is losing his excitement about sending them, I will write the text, then just have him fill out the TO part and sign his name.

I always have them send thankyou notes. Now I have them email them to inlaws that live far away because I have a terrible stamp problem. I just never seem to have them. I must have some fear of the post office I don't know about. lol
