View Full Version : wanna trade?

Hi all. Anyone want to trade lives for awhile? Oh, even a couple of days would do fine. I am so tired of my daily grind that I need a change. I am sick of my house, dh is constantly on the computer (last night all the kids were sleeping away from home, and I sat and watched a movie and dh was on the computer....yahoo!), the kids are messing up what I am trying to clean up faster than I can turn around. It is spring and everything outside is muddy, dirty and wet. I want....no NEED.....a holiday! And not a family holiday where I pack, get everything organized, do all my daily jobs while away on the "holiday" and then come back to do all the unpacking!
I know.....David/Pam couldn't a weekend spa be in the running for a prize for posting????? PLLLLLEEEEEAAASSSEEEE? And Ann can't win....she already gets to go to the spa! LOL
Now, doesn't my life sound so much fun that one of you would like to trade?????
:)

darlene - I'll trade you, but I don't know if you'll want mine any more than yours. ;) Actually, before I agree I need to know what your weather is like! LOL! My dks have been at each other's throats for the past week - nonstop. I feel more like a ref some days than anything else! Wait, maid is right up there, too! LOL! It seems like I can't keep up with the mess here either no matter how hard I try. When I try to clean or organize with dks around they have 7 million questions, want to "help", and actually somehow end up creating more work. LOL! We want to move and have a date in our heads that we want to have our house ready to put on the market, but we are no where near being ready. :( And, at least your dh was still up when you were - my dh fell asleep every night at 8:30 this week while tucking in youngest ds. My sis and her family are coming to visit this weekend and my house is a disaster! Hmm, what else can I whine about? LOL! Okay, usually I'm not so negative, but winter has dragged on far too long this year, it's been a long week, and I am feeling frustrated! Thanks for giving me the chance to vent, I'm already feeling better! :)

p.s. I vote for the SPA, too!!!! Pretty P L E A S E!!! :)

I feel the same way. I feel like I need a rest/vacation from EVERYBODY! I'd LOVE to go someplace where everybody is catering only to ME... and I wouldn't have to do a thing but spit out orders. LOL My whole day today consisted of nothing but a bunch of Diiiiaaaaannnneee's... so and so did this, so and so said that... so and so hit me... and on and on and ON. The baby was crabby (teething) and she did nothing but scream and cry throughout the day. Ugh

The topper of my day came though when the one mother I had given notice to decided that she was going to try to get back at me by accusing me of "abusing" her ds on the last day he was in my day care. My goodness... after doing day care for 22 years I'm suddenly going to start abusing kids. Ugh!!! Anyway, I called my social worker and told her what this mom said and she told me not to worry too much about it because this is quite normal coming from a parent who is bitter about getting notice. For some reason they feel the need to get back at us... Anyway, it's an awful feeling being accused of doing something like this knowing that it's something that I would/could never ever do. I'd hate to be put in a category with those who DO do these things. :(

Today is also my dd's 24th birthday but she has Clinicals tonight and won't be able to make it home, so were going to take her out for dinner tomorrow night instead. Hard to believe she's 24 already... time DOES fly. LOL

Hope your day (s) start getting better Darlene... I know how you feel that everything is crashing down on you. :) I'm just SOOO ready for the weekend. Just one more day! :) :) :)

Since we're all venting can I whine? I'm HUNGRY!!! I've started a diet 'cause there's no way these thighs are gunna see the light of day this summer. I really feel like I can do it this time. I haven't started exercising again, though. We never joined a gym, and part of my Norditrak got misplaced during the move. Maybe I can start walking.

The way it sounds here, we could ALL use a vacation of some sort. Is it the bad weather were all experiencing or what? LOL I can't believe SO many of us have SOOO much going on in our lives. :) So... when are we all taking our vacation??? LOL I REALLY need one... quick!!! :)

Yikes! Hope everything works out - how stressful! :(

Diane - Can' t believe that mom would do that to you. A false accusation like that can do lots of damage and no one needs that stress! Hope she wakes up before she files a false report! :(

Donna - Good luck on your diet!! :) We have two exercise "machines" here collecting dust! UGH!

OK..so here' s the plan
No kids
Spa activities
Mucho margaritas
David and Pam pay

did I miss anything????????????

thanks for the good wishes...I know things will work out..dh is just so down right now that it is hard..this client was his first boss almost 25 years ago and has been his client for over 15 years..we travel together and are friends..

Las Colinas would be GREAT - I can get there in 10 minutes!!

Ann - So sorry dh is having problems at work. Hang in there. The best words of wisdon we heard when my dh was out of work is that the Lord takes care of his people. Something better has always come out of our hard times - even though I never would have chosen the paths we've been led down.

I like the idea of David and Pam paying. LOL It sounds like your dh and his client has a lot of history behind them... to say nothing about you all being good friends and travel together. That's probably what makes what happened so hard. I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. :)

Thanks ya'll! It's just so hard to see dh so frustrated after everything he has been through this past year. The day the trade went bad was the 2nd day all the workmen were here tearing up our house! figures! LOL I guess I am making it look nice in case I have to sell!!!!!!!

btw...this is my 600th post..where is that prize! LOL

Count me in!!!

Darlene we can trade lives but honestly it would just be trading locations, DH's and kids. Your life sounds just like mine not to mention today was kindergarten party from HE double hockey sticks!! I have never wanted to hurt someone elses kid before but today I had that urge!

My friend calls me right before we need to leave to come to her work and help her out. Her mom called and a family friend died and she was so behind and upset she needed some help. Poor thing.

I am so wore out it isnt even funny!! I did get good news today. DH said that he gets a raise for going on thirds!!!! We can really use the money at this point!!!!
with him being off so long we are behind on everything.

Ok im done whining now. :)

Boy did I skim on these posts! Sorry!

DianeP-never let one person ruin all these years of explemporary work. Heck, Im thinking of sending my kids to you! Do you do overnighters? LOL

Ann-Im so sorry to hear about dh. With the markets being so volatile, its easy to blame just about anyone and your dh got caught in the middle. I look to you for strength (and others) because I see you as the pinnacle of strength, so hopefully you can sail through this next setback.

I know exactly what you mean about those parties!! I LOVE for the kids to have a good time but sometimes they just get too carried away and SO wound up. :crazyroll By the time the party is done and over with I'm ready to tear my hair out. :tearhair: LOL GREAT news about the raise. :yippee: How's your dd doing? I'm glad to hear that everything is working out so well. :)

I'd gladly trade you, but unfortunately, my life is the same, except for the puter in the eveing...dh and I have been falling asleep by 10 each night....LOL....the kids are the same here, we too have muddy, yucky, snowy, slushy yard....with dog paws on my kitchen floor...that's my new design I think....

I am hungry too, I hate the slim fast....LOL...I get hungry all day...so I am doing my torso track everyday, and all my stretchs for that back.....doing a slimfast thing for breakfast only and eating real food for lunch and dinner.....

oh and we have no money, I am hoping to get to the store for the buy one get one pair 1/2 off sale this weekend...but you know how that goes....

also my father is ticked off, cuz I don't have the $1,300....dollars to fly my family to California for his birthday....and he has no money to pitch in....well excuse me....I don't even have the $400 for one ticket.....ARGH....I hate this month....when April comes the rain will wash this all away....right?????

AnnW, I hear you about your dh's work...my dh was having a hardtime getting work for the last 3 months which was awful, and now that he has finally got some clients its stressful....I hope your dh will find something he likes, or that this thing will work out for him in the best way possible.

No trade would be good here.....I need someone to take me away too.....calgon...that I can afford....LOL...now can I get an Hour to bathe? NO....

wow, I feel better thanks for starting that vent session.....LOL

I have been doing the slim fast bars instead and really like them much better! I feel like I am eating something! LOL They taste good too. I do it for breakfast and lunch and then just have some fruit or rice cakes (chocolate of course!) for a snack.

Hey maybe we should treat Pam and David to something nice instead of always asking for and complaining about things?? Where is the love?? LOL

I am so sorry everyone is in the dumps! We have had pretty smooth sailing here. The weather clearing up really has helped. Now if I can just get outside and get ready for the 5K I am running in May. Dh is doing the mini-marathon. I am a big fat cow!! Mooooo

Darlene,
sorry I missed your post before today! Know how you feel. Hang in there!! The mud will dry up, spring WILL come.

I'm just hoping to make it till May when I'm done with this stupid class. Why I'm on here instead of studying, I'm not sure. I've put off homework so bad this week.
It's so hard to accomplish anything with the kids constantly needing something. Funny thing is they never bug dh when he's on the computer!

Hope things are better for you by now!! Hope you all get your spa get away!! Sounds like it greatly needed!

Have a great weekend!!

Glad to hear your courses are nearing the end. Will you take more again in the fall?

I hear ya about the $$ thing. With dh having only 2 clients so far, I am trying to keep spending to a minimum, but with 3 kids it isn't easy to do!
Couldn't your dad come to visit you instead of you all having to fly there? It would be good for him to see you new house right????

This seems like a down in the dumps group. LOL! Work has been sucking lately. Our boss has said that now our breaks are only away from the kids, but that we could be required to do other job related activities during that time, but last week we didn't get any breaks at all, so we hhad no time away form the children ,but lunch. They let a child stay in the center with impetigo just because the parents said that it wasn't impetigo. Well that is what they said when the child first came in with it and they let the child stay for almost a week before they sent her home and made her go to the doctor. She stayed out about a week, and then came back with the stuff, but because the parents said oh this is something else, they let the child stay again. The last week of overtime that I worked they are now saying that they are not going to pay me for it. THey said that they are going to give me comp time, and not even at a time and a half rate. They will not provide gloves for us to use to change diapers or to use in an emergency situation. (I don't want to touch blood without gloves.) My room lead went out and got gloves for us. I am trying to talk to someone higher than my boss, but I keep reaching dead ends. Thanks for letting me vent guys. I guess we all need a vacation.

angie r
04-01-2001, 08:13 AM
Isn't it against the law not to use gloves?? We have to use gloves in our sunday school nursery. Teachers also have gloves in their classrooms here in case someone gets hurt and is bleeding/vomiting. That seems very wrong to me.

Do the parents have to bring a doctors note saying their child is not contagious? I know I always did when my ds was in daycare?

I hope things start to look up for you Leigh!

AWE!! How sweet!! Isn't neat how kids surprise us like that?

No, I don't have plans to take more classes. I will be able to renew my certificate this summer and I'll be good for 7 more years. Hopefully once my youngest (3) gets into school I can get more serious about taking more.

Hope things are going well for you!! :)

I'd love to go to a spa...or any place where I could walk on a beach, sit in a lounge chair, and float in a swimming pool without having to worry where the kids are or what they are doing, and knowing that DH is home for a change with them  Wouldn't that be great? Count me in when you are planning the trip!!!! :bounce:
