One of my very elderly (96) neighbor's died on Saturday, and I would like to bring a dish over. (his unmarried son survives him) Does anyone have any good but easy dish suggestions? I'm going to the grocery store and would like to be able to pick up the ingredients tonight... so if you have any great recipes you think would be good... please share. I'd really appreciate it!!! :)

This is what I take for every funeral or baby born...
One can chicken broth
One can chopped tomatoes
One cup chopped celery
One cup chopped onion
One large can sliced mushrooms undrained
One clove garlic chopped
Salt/Pepper to taste
Put all in a pot, bring to boil, simmer 1 hour.
Add One chicken cooked and cut up (or 4 or 5 breasts)...simmer about 10 minutes more.
Cook one small package of spaghetti.
In a casserole dish mix spaghetti with chicken mixture, cover with grated chedder cheese, bake for 45 minutes at 350.
If giving as a gift, Don't bake....I put it in a throw away aluminum pan, cover with foil and put the baking directions on top.
