Ok, we are registering the kids tommorrow....

looks like they will be doing the year round thing....no uniforms...kids are scared that they will start the AUG 6th track...I am leaning toward holding them until the SEPT track so they can have some little vacation here now that we are settling in....


wish us luck...I am so tired and my head is still spinning....moving is such fun...;)

When I enrolled DS in a CA year round school it was on a first come first choice basis. I was there the first day waiting for the doors to open. Good Luck!!

I would do year round in a flash too! They DO get vacations, you know! LOL Your kids are really young enough that they won't notice the difference all that much if you don't make a big deal of it...what are your reservations about it?

I wish they had had year around kindergarten when my kids were little... that would have been SO nice. I too think that the September track sounds like a great idea. :) My kids never had uniforms... so I'm not too sure if that's a good thing or not... I've heard both good and bad about them. 8o Anyways... good luck!!!

I am not exactly sure how they work, so those are my reservations....:lol:

school would start Aug 5th off track JULY, NOV. MAR. I have to ask when we go today...I have an appointment later this afternoon with the principal....very cool...they are excited I think...wish me luck...I was hoping for uniforms...but oh well

I don't understand what you mean by on/off track. We don't have year round schools here.

Darlene - on track is when the kids go to school. Off track is when they have one of their vacations. The kids go to school for the same number of days as a traditional school year. For example when DS was in a year round school he was out of school or off track from Thanksgiving until New Years or 5 - 6 weeks. Then he was on track or in school from January until March. He was off for 3 weeks then (off track). Back at school for roughly 3 months and then out of school for roughly a month. It's roughly a 3 on 1 off cycle.

His school had 5 tracks or scheduals. One track was a traditional school year schedual. Track A started in July, track B in August, track C in September and Track D in October. Each of those 4 track went roughly 3 months on and one month off. All kids were off for a week or two during Christmas, a couple of days for Thanksgiving and other holidays.
