I am planning my two year old son's birthday party and we have chosen a theme called Honk Honk Beep Beep. It has a car, train, bulldozer, etc. on it. I am trying to come up with very unique ideas for the party especially with decorations and activities. If anyone has any suggestions I would REALLY appreciate them.

This website is great. I cannot believe that I have not found it before now.:)

Welcome!!

You could turn cardboard boxes into cars, trains, and bulldozers by painting them and adding 'straps' so the kids can wear them on their shoulders and run around.
If you could find train sounds, you could play choo-choo chairs..... same as musical chairs, just play the train sounds and when it stops, remove a 'car'.
I'd copy some coloring sheets of trains, cars, etc. for them to color.
That's all I can think of right now, if I come up with anything else, I'll let you know.

Have fun!!

Hi,
Here are some things that you can do for your theme

For decorating maybe get a white table cover and draw roads and tracks on it. Put some cars, trucks, bulldozers, trains on table so that the kids can play while waiting for food or cake.

Get a load of dirt and put trucks, pails and shovels for the kids to play with. If you don't have space for a load of dirt maybe get a large box and fill it with dirt. Boys love Dirt!!

Games are hard to play at this age because kids don't usually understand the concept. I would just let them play.

Another thing you can do is have a car wash. So maybe on the invitations put bring a change of clothes for after our car wash.

You can also get hats for the kids like a construction hat, train engineer hat, etc..

I like the idea of the boxes and making them into cars. Maybe let the kids help designing their own car. You can also get some coloring pictures and have theme color too.

Make A Cake into a roadway
Make a sheet cake with chocolate frosting and design a road on it. Place matchbox cars on the cake to look like a road. One area you could have a train track, and a construction zone area too.

If you need other ideas feel free to email me at partyplayhouse@yahoo.com

You could get something related to Bob The Builder. I know one of the kids I babysit for absolutely adores him.

You could put a small amount of paint on a large piece of paper and let the children drive matchbox cars through it to make "tracks".

Play Red light/ Green light....(Kind of a stop and go game!)

Make a cake in the shape of a stop sign....or a stop light.

Wash a real car....(swimsuits, required;) ).

Thanks to all of you. We do plan to have a road for the cake with real cars and miniature traffic signs to make it appear 3 dimensional. I love the car wash idea and making the cars out of boxes as well as the pile of dirt. I am not sure I am brave enough for the paint idea although I liked it ALOT. These kids would probably lie down and roll in it and their parents would kill me. I do appreciate all of the ideas and plan to incorporate them.

Thanks a bunch...and keep them coming. The party is in September so we still have a little while.
