That's great news!! Congratulations. So all that's left is the preparation for closing??Maybe October 1? That's not bad. My fingers are crossed that it all goes smoothly for you. It's so much fun looking at houses. (Don't let Amy D's frustration color your view! She's feeling much happier now! LOL)

Renee...don't rush into anything. You are in the catbird seat by renting so take your time. I know you are worried about changing the kids' schools too much so make sure you know the area you want to live in. Heck, when we moved back to Houston, we took 3 years to find this house cause we could be patient AND picky!!! LOL

:yippee: Hope the sale goes smoothly and quickly for you. What a relief it will be to have the old house sold so you can concentrate on finding something where you are now!

Great News! I have to confess to feeling very jealous! Best of luck finding the house you want!

Things are going terrible with selling our house. We haven't owned it long and won't sell for less then we paid plus fees. That still puts us in the range of houses currently being sold but doesn't allow for any play room. That's strike one.
Strike two is that isn't only a 1 1/2 bath. If we had a decent realtor he could point out that it would be easy to upgrade to a full 2 baths since the laundry room is next to the half bath. A couple of our neighbors did that.

Strike 3 is the Realtor! All the agent has done is put it on the MLS and put out fliers. Hasn't been in the papers and hasn't been in the real estate books. Wouldn't really matter since his descriptions are soooo bland and for the first while it was on the MLS it was listed incorrectly. He isn't trying to get anyone to see the place and we are locked in with him until the end of the year.

I guess we'll have to chalk this down to a learning experience on what NOT to do when selling a house! We're anticipating being her until we get out from under the contract with him. Then we may go it alone.

Since we're staying for awhile - any advice for a stay at home mom that hasn't worked for 6 years about going back to work? I am working for the used book store but that's only a couple of hours. She couldn't afford to have me working more.

Wow... that was fast!!! Congratulations... I'll bet it's a relief knowing that part of the move is almost done and over with. :)

Oh Lynda, we got so Luckywith our realator...she usually gets within $5000.00 of the asking price and usually sell a home within 5 months...she is really good and knows the upstate area, plus I think she is really connected...I was referred by my mortgage broker who I happened apon when we decided to sell....pure luck....your home will sell...try to look at it as the right offer and persons haven't come along yet for some reason....your perfect buyer is out there....and the right job that will suit you and your family to a tee :)

I was told to try and sell it ourselves too, but because we were in a rush to get out of the state  we opted for the realtor...you'll do it....I have faith :angel:as for going back to work...

I TOTALLY hear you..I am so afraid...and I am not sure what I am afraid of....I love being a SAHM...and going to work wasn't in my original plan of things...but we could use the money and the kids will be in school...fear is weird huh....hang in there honey....:)
