Morning!
Well, I am just at my wits end. I have always sort of noticed that dd seemed to sort of have a cough/cold whenever ds had a croup attack..well now, I am beginning to think that it is more than just a coincidence..she was having a major croup attack last night!!!!! Her's is definitely more responsive to meds than his but her barking is the same..so now I am thinking "is it enviromental"??? everyone around here is all flipped out over black mold and now I am wondering............waiting for the pedi office to open in 10 minutes

Beth..I am jealous...we aren't going to opening day AGAIN...I am so torked :{ the people we share the tickets with couldn't go so they gave them away!!!!!!!!!

Ann- Hope you get some answers about your dks! :nervous:

My sis and her family are coming later today and spending the night. There is a Mardi Gras carnival tonight so we are taking all of the kids. Lots of games and crafts - all FREE! Only thing that costs money is food. We always have a lot of fun, so I am looking forward to it! :yippee:

Have a good day, everyone!!! :)

Ann, I hope you gete some answers. I'm so interested in all of this yucky croup stuff. I wish there were an easy solution. Have croup? Take this medicine and it'll disappear! Ha! Only in our dreams!! Does your ds seem to have croup that lasts for more than one night??? My ped. told me that croup typically lasts for three to four nights (days). The first day is mild...you think it's only a cough (cold). The second and third days are the worst...and the fourth day it winds down. I notice this somewhat in my ds...but not always. Let us know what happens.

Karla...Mardi Gras in March??? Have fun!

Mary...with ds it is always 5 days..2 days up, third worse, 2 days down no matter what we do. I have been giving him more neb treatments with lidocaine cause they think part of his prob is more spasmadic cough..it helps a little
DD got dacron shot and has "classic croup"

Hope the doc. can figure something out and help your little ones get feeling better. Not only sleepless nights for them, but for Mom too. Not fun.
dd had whooping cough when she was six. Wasn't fun :(
She would be up coughing for hours at a time. At one point she couldn't get her breath and we had to take her to emerg. They put her in the hosp. but she became so aggitated that they thought she would be better off at home, where she is more comfortable. so we took her home and had to check in every few days.
It took about 3 months til she was back to her old self again.
She's hardly had even the sniffles since :)

Thanks Ryleigh! They tested ds for whooping cough at one time..kind of wish it was..at least he could get OVER that!!!!!!!!!!

If it's any help to any of you suffering with coughing children, my middle dd (now 14) had several episodes of being unable to breathe starting when she was about 2. The ped suggested watching and considered asthma and allergies. We had to put her on inhalers when she was about 8because the episodes were getting more frequent. The ped called it Reactive Airway Disease (just RAD, not totally rad, dude!). She has grown out of the worst of it, and just shows some moderate allergy symptoms now-mostly in the Spring. Maybe a few more years will show some relief for your dks. ?(

What is the deal with all kids having trouble breathing?? Have we ruined the atmosphere? I don't remember this when I was a kid? My ds had RSV until he was 2 and then boom, it was gone.

I am so sorry AnnW, your kids were doing soooo well!

Today we woke up late and went to pick up the kids. Took ds to soccer practice and then back home to clean the garage. Dh went to sears for a spark plug so I thought I'd sneak in and see what you are all up to! We don't have any plans for the rest of the day. I sure am loving my Saturday's together with my family!!!! The weather is awesome today, but rain is coming tomorrow. I hope our ponds fill up!!

Hi all. Dh just got the new computer hooked up. We are actually going out tonight with a couple of friends for supper and then to their place for cards. Kids are all camped out a grammas for the night. :newwink:
Dd got a call last night that she had won a $50 gift certificate at one of the stores at our mall. She was thrilled and of course we had to go to the mall this afternoon so she could spend it! LOL She got herself and trendy pair of boots (with killer heels IMO), a pair of pants and a necklace. :happydnc:
I am starving and don't want to wait for supper, but guess I'll sneak a granola bar and tuff it out. Off to a new restaurant in town that dh and I have never been to. Now if it would just quit snowing/blowing things would really look good today!
:)

Good Evening! Busy day here...my ds was in a music competition today...his group scored a 1 (the best you can get) :D

We're just hanging out tonight...recovering from the busy day I think. Videos are on the agenda...watched "Remember the Titans" last night - I bought it...Love that movie! Anyone else see it? Not sure what we'll watch tonight as we have several from the library.

Beth C...your baseball weather sounds great! Our home opener is Monday, too, but snow/rain is forecast :grimace:

Ann, I hope you get your children straightened around...that is miserable...maybe they both have allergies? Is something in season there?

Darlene, enjoy the new computer and your night out!

And everyone else....enjoy your night! :biglaugh:

Dh got my car started and back in running order... so I'm happy again! :* We went out and did a little bit of shopping but didn't buy too much of anything... LOL It was just a nice day to get out and enjoy the nice weather and sunshine! I can't believe that tomorrow is Monday already. These weekends go MUCH too fast. LOL
