Good Saturday to everyone. What a long day this has turned out to be. One of my dear friends had her 3rd baby this morning about 2:30 (a boy 11 pounds, 24 inches long), then we had to travel out of town for her mother's funeral at 10:00 this morning.

This friend is such a wonderful young Christian mother and leader in our church. I came to know and love her mother too. She and her dh facilitated a 12 week His Needs, Her Needs marriage enrichment seminar at our church nearly three years ago. They would make the hour drive every week to do this class. Not only did dh and I grow together, we bonded with the other couples in our class as well, and most especially with my friend's mother. She was the kind of woman who touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with.

She was tired around the holidays and after Christmas she went for tests. Turned out she had cancer and it was raging through her body. She died on Wednesday. She was only 49. Cancer destroyed her body, but could not destroy her spirit. She raised three children herself and all three are Christians and all three married Christian spouses. She died happy knowing she had laid so strong a foundation for her children.

The family wanted today to be a joyous occasion. I believe the Lord agreed and brought that new baby into the world early this morning.

Please keep me in your prayers as I struggle with the competing emotions I feel today.

Oh sweetie, I am so sorry for your loss. I know it doesn't take the hurt away but, just know that she is dancing with her saviour tonite! She sounds like a remarkable women...what an honor to have been her friend.

Amen. At home with the Father and no more pain.

Did your friend go to the funeral? 11 pounds, how incredible? I just loved the book, "His Needs Her Needs" I bet the class was awesome. (((kat)))

{{{HUGS}}} Oh Kat, I am so sorry. I know that doesn't help, but knowing that she is with the Lord has to be a relief off of your mind. If you need us we are here for you.
