Last year someone posted about making Wish Candle sets -- 6 votive candles with a poem about six things I wish for you today (PEACE and LOVE to feed your soul, STRENGTH to reach your every goal. HOPE and JOY to make your days bright, COURAGE to always do what’s right).

I copied the idea (hope that was OK) and gave them to my sisters and sister-in-law. I decorated brown lunch bags with ironed on muslin shapes and gold glitter paint and added the poem tied on with a raffia bow.

Now, has anybody seen any great holiday ideas yet??? I am thinking about stamping some note card sets for each one, but am not sure about the cost -- by the time I do 8 sets of cards.

Any great ideas or thoughts?

I was just talking about this today! I don't know what to do!!

bizymum - I made some soaps last year, I bought all the supplies at Michael's. Soap, food color, scent, heat it in the microwave, mix it all together, pour into molds, pop into the fridge until set, pop them out and tada.... soap.

The Last few years I've started this little thing where I but those ceramic ornament kits from like Micheals (there's usually like 8 or 10 ornements and includes paints and directions). I've been giving them to family as extra gifts and co workers. The whole kit cost under $15 usually and people love the personal touch.

My DF looks foward to getting one each year. He even questioned me about it last year cause I did not have time to do them. He said what no ornament this year? I'm gonna have to start soon. I don't get them done as quick while in school. LOL

Ok I am so babling tonight...SORRY!!!!!

I was also thinking about this the other day. I was thinking about doing Jen's snowman lightbulbs for some. I have been trying to save lightbulbs as they go out just for this project. If I think of anything else, I will post it.

Oh I just thought of another one I did with my daycare kids. I got those glass ornament balls...tapes a picture of the child inside it (carefully cut to size and roll without crinkling put it in side) This takes some practice. Then we tore up colored tissue paper and put that in. On the back I wrote Merry Christmas and the Year!!!!

They came out so cute!!!!!!

Rhonda- I make soap all the time. It's just as simple as Angie described. I just made some with my dck's last week and we put plastic bugs and lizards in clear soap. AL the dcks loved it!

There might actually be a thread on the board for the light bulb snowman. I'll check. If not, I can e-mail you directions and also a photo. They are SO cute!!! I made them for my dk's teachers last year and I think I'm going to make them again this year.

I couldn't find your e-mail. Just e-mail me and then I'll e-mail you the directions. JAK@theideabox.com

As far as the soap supplies. Most craft stores carry them (Michael's also has a website). You need to buy glycerin (sp?) soap.

I once stamped a bunch of baby announcments and baby thank you cards for a friend of mine. The most expensive part are the stamps themselves, but once you have them, you can always use them over and over. Depending on the types of notecards you want to make you might be able to find some stamps you like at Walmart. I've made several cards before with the same stamp, using different colors of ink and colored paper for each card and they all look great, but different. Maybe you could so something like that.
