For me, it's a paperwork day - paying bills, balancing checkbook, clearing that stack of papers on my desk. Ugh. Need caffeine. Lots of caffeine. I also have to do laundry. Double Ugh.
But I plan a reward for myself too, it's the only way to get motivated. If I get everything done, I'm gonna rent some schmaltzy chickflick, buy myself a pint of Heavenly Hash, and do some serious bonding with my flannel-annies. (Yeah, it's in the high 90's today but what's an air-conditioner for?)
Hope y'all have a good day.

Morning. I am tired, we had one of our block parties last night and didn't come home till midnight! LOL
DS had fun at this dance, all I got out of him is that he danced.."duh mom it was a dance" LOL but don't know with who.
DD has a marathon birthday party today 11-4.
Think we are going to be low key tonite, we are thinking of changing churches so promotion sunday is tomorrow.

Good morning. I slept until 9:30!! I can't remember the last time I did that. I had a date last night and got home a little late, though, so I needed it! I have a ton of things to do today and tomorrow. It's all those things I didn't get to this week. Seems like dds are all busy. Oldest has been doing a lot of driving for me this week. (I'll probably have to give her some gas money...don't know what I'd have done without her!) Regular back to school may be less hectic! LOL
It's hot and humid already! This has been one of the hottest summers I can remember. I'm hoping it'll last well into October, and that we have another mild winter. I know it's asking for a lot!

Morning All!
Lets see if today can be a more productive day! I spent all afternoon yesterday tring to track down a doctor....I can't believe the covering doctor would not take the insurance...I ended up calling my doctor upstate....I usually end up going to him when I go visit my friends. So he called in a perscription....Gotta love doctors who care!! I'm gonna have to yell at my doctor next week when he comes back from vacation.
Any way I'm goona work alot on my paper today especially since I really got nothing done yesterday!
Carolyn~ I love your Idea for the movie I may have to do that myself tonight.
Cathy~ I totally agree with you about this lovely NY weather...It's the reason for all my sinus problems.
Have a good Day!

Morning all. It is cool and rainy yet again! We all slept in this morning. Now I am trying to get ready to hit the auction sale....but being addicted to IB as I am, of course I had to stop in here first.
Stayed up too late watching that movie last night...not as good as I had been led to believe. Then I just couldn't get comfortable...this damn leg is still giving me grief....was still awake at 2am. With this crappy weather maybe I'll have a nap this afternoon.
Have a great day all.

Just said final good-bye to my very close friend who's moving to Missouri tomorrow.... cried buckets...... she and her family are so special to our family....
Morning all....we got our DSL working....:happydnc: dh has been hogging the puter all morning... kids are watching Tarzan and Jane.....we are going to my dads for a "August Birthday Bash" they celebrate all the birthdays together / BBQ and pool party....should be fun...its our first one....kids are excited....dh and I will see what happends....;)
sleeping in....hum....what is that exactly.... enjoy it, those of you who can....
have a great day all...8)
Haven't taken a shower yet. I need to get some slamon into brine for my dh who is smoking a bunch of salmon to day for the dad of a friend of ours. He's here visiting and wants to take some smoked salmon home. He could buy it, but it costs so darn much that dh said he would do it. (I think the dad might have even caught one of the salmon that's being smoked)
Have to go pick dd up from her slumber party and then I'm off to a Pamperd Chef party. Then home to clean for the rest of the day! I need to do some heavy duty cleaning! I have clutter every where!
Hope everyone has a great day! :)
Darlene- what movie did you watch?

LOL It's strange--I see my dating from 2 perspectives; mom and dater. I also hear my mom's voice at times. Keeps me on my toes.
I drove up after work. Hung out with the kids-looking at school schedules, heard about soccer, etc. Then the 2 of us went out for dinner, watched some tv, went for a walk, and I drove home. Funny, it doesn't sound like a wonderful romantic evening....but it was. :*

I slept in this morning also. D is gone now to help a friend of our work on his race car, and then later tonight we are going to the races. I don't really plan on getting much done today, I just want to lay around and do nothing. I do have to do a little laundry though. YUCK!!

Seems I always get in here at the end of the day. :(
Today was supposed to be a fun girls day out. " Supposed to be" are the key words here. I did meet with my SILs to go shopping. Dh called wondering what there was for lunch. I told him I figured he could decide what to fix so I didn't do anything about it. About lunchtime he calls me and is complaining because he can't find the hotdogs. (He's such a creative cook you know!) Well I thought there were some in the fridge. He could only find 5. The kids must have eaten them when I was working yesterday. I told him I didn't know we were out of hotdogs. Anyway he was all ticked off that I didn't have that planned out or tell him what his choices were.
That ruined the whole mood for the day. It probably didn't help that my SILs were telling me how I should just stay over or go out and buy something expensive for myself.
I called shortly before heading home. He said he'd probably have to take the kids out for supper because we didn't have any hotdogs. Hello???? the grocery store is open you could go buy some!!!!?( ?( ?( Anyway I told him I'd be home before long and we'd just go get dd #2's birthday pizza. )Heck if I was gonna let him go out to eat without me!!)
Am I being unreasonable to expect dh to find and fix a meal for the kids one day week???
So anyway we got pizza when I got home and then sent the kids on to bed. Guess we'll catch late Mass tomorrow.
On my shopping trip I did find a new purse and a tape recorder/radio to use at the daycare. My SILs spent a lot of time looking at jewelry (which just doesn't excite me that much) so I didn't have much opportunity to find much for clothes and shoes.
I'm getting tired and need to head to bed soon.
Good night all

I ended up renting "While You Were Sleeping" with Sandra Bullock. If you haven't seen it, do, it's hysterical and sweet and charming and romantic. Perfect chick flick.
Re 'helpless husbands'. Yeah, it can drive you crazy. And the thing is, they have no incentive to get good at taking care of this. If we keep adjusting our behavior every time they are inept and whine, we only reinforce their helplessness.
Next time, I suggest, don't call home. He would have found a solution without you, trust me, men don't starve. In fact, have you seen that commercial where the father pretends he can't hear his son on the cell phone because he doesn't want to bring him along on a Disney World trip? Make static noises into the phone as soon as hubby starts whining. "OH, so sorry, hon, we must be breaking up, can't hear you...."
My husband is a great guy, no kidding, very supportive, but even he gets helpless and whiny sometimes. Or (More often) he gets bored and begins wandering around the house, looking for things left undone. One of his favorite activities on a Sunday night when he's bored is to wander into the kitchen and look in the fridge and ask questions like "how old is that ham?" Then he starts ostentatiously cleaning out the fridge. I used to rush over, all defensive, and take over the job, and clean out the fridge.
ON A SUNDAY NIGHT! GIVE ME A BREAK!
Now I'm smarter. He starts doing that, and I just smile and let him knock himself out. OR even better, I go in and watch him and whine about my mother. And he knows never to comment when I'm whining about mom or he might end up with his head in the Crisp'n'Cold. It's extremely effective and I end up with a clean fridge. Who says men can't be taught?

OMG!!!!8o 8o My dh does this same thing!!!! Drives me crazy!!! Why is it that we feel defensive about what is in the fridge...LOL! I'm the same as you nowadays...I just let him do it. I kind of ignore him...and the fridge ends up cleaned out! Works for me (even though I have to leave the room...so that I don't get "defensive" about the food!!)
