I was hoping to spend the day outside catching up on gardening and suntanning :( but right now it looks like it is going to pour any minute. Actually it's been extremely hot and humid this week, so the rain would do us good.
I'm feeling a little run down today, no energy and my throat is a bit scratchy :\ I hope I don't get sick. I'm popping my Benylin first defence lozenges and taking vitamin C.
Dh and I went out for dinner last night  my parents offered to babysit at the last minute.
Thinking maybe I would make a big pot of soup today....any suggestions?????
Marla, sounds like the "back to school flu"!! LOL Hope you feel better as the day goes on.
How about a pot of veggie soup and fresh bread?
I can't remember if I mentioned this, but we are thinking of switching churches. Today starts the calendar year at the new church so we are going this am.
DD is going to another birthday party this afternoon, and ds has youth group this evening.
Can't believe that school starts tomorrow!8o

Well I think that it is going to be just an ordinary Sunday here. I hope that is what is going to be at least. LOL As I was typing this, I remembered that we have a little girl's birthday party to go to. Then her family is going to come back to my house. Oh well, I guess as of lately, that is my ordinary Sundays. I have no earthly clue what to fix to eat today. Dh is getting tired of fast food again and actually so am I. Maybe I will go to the store and buy some stuff for soup. Dh has a follow up doctors appointment tommorow on his hip. He has said that it has started bothering him in the last week. I hope it is just his mind playing with him, since he know he is going back to the doctor. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers that nothing serious has developed. Thanks. :D Well, I hope everyone has a great Sunday, and good luck to those going back to school tomorrow. :D
Ann- Have fun at your new church. How do they decide what is the start of a new cycle?
Marla- Hope you feel better today!
Leigh, they time it with the start of the new school year. Our other church times it with the first Sunday after Labor Day.

Oh I have never heard of churches having beginning cycles. I have just always switched churches whenever. I guess you do learn something new everyday. :D
Hazy morning here too....sleepy family....I am up and working :computer: here, but dh is snoozing, dks are laying on the couch watching "Sponge Bob"
we are going to get ds birthday gift today....pick up "Monsters Inc." and run to Target....then back here to do nothing....;)
I love lazy sundays....the shopping will take about 1 hour and then we do nothing....:p
Marla ~ I second Ann's suggestion for fresh bread and Veggie soup :licklips:
Ann ~ if its not too nosey...why a new church? :tinysmile
Leigh ~ ordinary is good sometimes ;)
Leigh, it's really more for the kids and sunday school classes since they are usually grouped by age/grade.
Renee, we love our old church but the kids don't have alot of friends from school that go there. This church is right in our neighborhood and they know tons of people..so do we. In fact, running into people today, alot just assumed we were members till we reminded them that we weren't! LOL It's just getting really important, especially at ds' age, that the kids have strong church ties and feel comfortable.

I agree, I didn't stay as invovled with the church as much as I would have liked when I became a tenn/preteen because our church was filled with older people and hardly any children at all. Good luck with your new church AnnW.
Renee- Have fun getting ds's birthday gift. Do you know what it is going to be yet? Have fun being lazy.

It's pretty gray and dreary here too. No rain but it is cool.
We were woke by the phone this morning. Dh was called up to the hospital to fix a vending machine. He barely made it on time for church.
We had a retired priest today and he updated us on Father's condition. He is in critical but stable condition. He had skull fractures and they are most concerned about brain damage. I guess his lungs were punctured and a bone in his shoulder was fractured but those are not that serious. After Mass they had a meeting with the School board and Parish council members to make sure everything is being taken of. It's really sad, but we've been assured by this priest that the Bishop will see to it that we will have someone for weekend Masses and emergencies.
Not much of anything on the agenda today. I can't remember the last time we were home on a Sunday with nothing going on.
Kids start back to school tomorrow and they are all excited to go. I think I'm going to feel lost tomorrow morning with just me and ds #3. I work at 10:30 so that will keep my mind off of it later.
Have a good Sunday all and good luck in the upcoming school year!!

Just got back from a wknd at the fair and I am wiped out. We had a lot of fun and ate lots and lots. We brought my nephew home with us and my sis and my niece should be here shortly to spend the night.
The day started fine, ended fine, but kinda fell apart around the middle. Went to church, came home and made lunch. Then took an hours nap and went to do my ESL tutoring. I've switched to Sundays now that we have a full time Hispanic minister. I help out with the whole group lessons then do one on one with two different students.
Left at 4:00 and decided to run to Wal-Mart to exchange ds's new pants that were too short :{ While I was there I was going to get the rest of his school supplies and get groceries. Big Mistake! The largest area school had their open house this afternoon and half the county was in there with their school supply lists. I still don't know the lay of the land yet and between that and fighting the crowds, I walked to my car at 5:40. Headed home, met dh and ds going to church. Got the groceries put away and supper started by the time they got back home.
Got ds's things squared away for school, shooed him off the computer and now I'm trying to catch up here. I need to get to bed early myself. I have to get up 2 1/2 hours earlier than I'm used to now.
