Flies: Dead or alive?

We have a terrible time with flies this time of year since the nights are cool. (It probably doesn't help that we live next door to my dad's pigs! 8o )

When we sit down to eat with the univited guests, dh will grab a fly swatter and kill the flies that land on the table and around there. My dad used to do the same thing.

I prefer to brush them away and swat them later. I think it's so gross to swat flies and then brush dead flies off the table.

Which would you whether have --live flies that land on you plate occasionally or someone swatting flies and brushing dead flies off the table??

Eeew! I think swatting them on the table would gross me out. 8o I hate flies buzzing around me though.

I hate it when they buzz around me...esp. while I'm eating. I don't think I'd actually swat one at the table, but I'd probably follow it to a wall...etc, and WHACK!!!!! One dead fly...(my kids would be totally impressed!!!):rolleyes:

I think I'd probably opt to swat the darn thing and put it (and me) out of it's misery. I can't stand flies pestering me during a meal... and the sooner it's gone the sooner I can sit and enjoy a nice peaceful meal with my family. I'm with Renee though... I wouldn't bush it onto the floor either but would pick it off with a napkin and toss it in the garbage. LOL Ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We swat them after the meal around here! Sometimes we have competitions (complete with sound effects!! LOL) Fortunately they only get really bad a couple of times a year. But you can't count it, for scoring purposes, until it's in the trash. No carcasses around as evidence.....that way the other flies don't blame us. LOL
