Hi ladies! That fun chat yesterday reminded me of just how much I appreciate this board and you guys, so Amy/CO you will be happy to know I will try to make more time for the box, lol!

Errands and housework today, our two "houseguests" arrive tomorrow, the dks of dear friends of ours who are off to Tucson for a week of golf and pampering! The dks are 9 and 10 and go to school with our dks so hopefully things will run smoothly, they are all good friends.

Finishing up dds room that I painted over the weekend, what a job! Better get off the :computer: and on with my day!

This is my first attempt at smilies, so just have to try the :wiggle: ! Hope it works!

going to be 85 here and high humidity!!!! where did spring go? opening day for the Astros but I won't be there :bigcry: we are going on Friday.
dd is home with me..think it's more of a jealousy thing but she did throw up at school, but ds is back in school!
painters come to do the den today and I am going to work in the yard

Nothing too much going on around here today... as usual. LOL It looks like it's going to be another nice day... I think in the 50's. :yippee: So far I've only got one family in... so it looks like it's going to be a pretty quiet day.

Dd's got cheerleading try out's tonight. :nervous: She definitely knows that she'll be in cheerleading but they have to try out for whatever sport they want to cheer for. :wiggle: She wants to cheer for the boy's Football team... which is what everybody else seems to be choosing too, so it's going to be a tough competition. LOL She's good... so I hope she makes it!!! She'll be pretty disappointed if she doesn't. :bawling: (but she'll survive... LOL)

Tonight Dh and I are going shopping to find some new draperies for my FIL's house... after painting and putting in the new carpets, we decided that the curtains really look blaaaahhhh! LOL It's funny because when we first took on this project we were only going to do what was absolutely necessary... no more! Turns out that by the time were done, EVERYTHING will have been replaced, including the countertops. LOL MIL and FIL wouldn't recognize it... and I'm SO sure they wouldn't like it either. :rolleyes: It actually looks NICE!!!!! :)

Diane-I hope your dd makes the team!

AnnW-My dd complains of stomach aches about 3 times a day. It doesn't effect her eating, sleeping or playing, so Im apted to think its related to stress or anxiety. Do you think hers could be related to any of those?

Its very overcast here today. I think its suppose to burn off by noon and be in the 70's.
I think I'll take ds to Barnes and Noble to play with the wooden train set. I can usually sit in peace and read a whole magazine!

Ann, how's dh's job situation? We're really praying my dh survives the layoffs at his job. I really don't think I could handle it if he lost this job. My kids are just now getting settled. Life goes on though.

Amy..I think alot of it is jealousy right now..big brother is getting attention and she DOES have cold so being jealous is making it worse. But I know she is not 100% cause she went straight to sleep last night and just woke up 15 minutes ago!!!

Donna...it looks like his big client is gone, so who knows..his firm isn't mad at him but it's a matter of trying to replace the $$ we made off of that client...don't know if leaving this firm would make a difference to the client, but if he thought it would he might change jobs

Good Morning..gee, it's almost afternoon! I have ds home again...he's getting better but needs to let the meds really kick in. I am taking him to the orthodontist this afternoon for his regular appt. He says he's OK with that...maybe he'll be back to school tomorrow. Oldest dd is back today..think she's OK :)

Ann, glad you got one back today :) And I hope your Astos win today!

Kathy, sounds like your house will be busy!

Thanks for the good wishes. Ann, hope things smooth out for ya'll. The tech industry itself is really bad right now. Almost every company dh interviewed with 6 months ago is laying people off. Dh's company is laying off 610 people.

That is just amazing. My dh interviewed for a company a year ago that I couldn't believe he didn't take it. They just laid off 200 this month. Whew!
