Ok...my friend said basically they just take:
1 Large can of Jelly Cranberry sauce
1 Small can of Sauce Artura (found usually near the tomato pastes in Stores)
Heat them till they mix together.
Make meatballs as normal.
The sauce is usually enough for 1 lb of meat.
Hope it helps...not a perfect recipe but it's a starting point!

I just found this recipe on Sauce Artura website:
http://www.saucearturo.com/
or
http://www.directorylink.net/Arturo/recipes.html
Cabbage & Meatballs
1½ lbs ground beef made into your favorite meatball recipe
1 medium sized head of cabbage
1 16oz can of Whole Cranberry Sauce
2 8oz cans Sauce Arturo®
1½ Tbsp dark brown sugar
1 squirt of fresh lemon juice
Slice Cabbage about ¼" thick and place in large casserole dish evenly spread out. Put meatballs on top of cabbage. Mix Sauce Arturo®, Cranberry Sauce, brown sugar & lemon juice until well blended & pour over cabbage & meatballs. Cover very tightly with aluminum foil and bake at 350° for 2 hours without removing the foil. Serve with mashed potatoes for a tasty meal.
Hope they help!

When I used to eat meat, I loved my mom's sweet and sour meatballs. My mom always served the meatballs over a bed of rice. Now I just make sweet and sour rice for myself.
My mom would prepare the meatballs (as you would for spaghetti and meatballs), but for the sauce, she would sautee an onion, add equal parts of ketchup and gingerale, and then add mushrooms. Bring to a boil, and then simmer. Add more gingerale or ketchup until the desired "tangyness" is achieved.
When I make my sweet and sour sauce, I use a combination of tomato sauce (just plain) and diet coke.

I know I posted this last night, but it's not here.... hummmm.
Anyway, when I make them, this is the recipe I use -
1 jar grape jelly
1 jar chili sauce
Yummm :)
