Well,

Yesterday, I put in the usual 3 miles. Today though, My walking buddy wanted to change things up. We only walked about 2 miles, but had more hills in it.

So which is better, the intensity or duration? I felt the work out was ok. My buddy would perfer the harder work out, but not as long. Is this a personal perference thing????
I am leaning to the longer duration, but would like your input.

What do you think???

actaully you both have the right idea .....the best thing is to alternate Intesity and duration....so that your not doing the same thing everyday....

way to go sticking to your movement....:happydnc:

Bare minimum, you need to exercise at an elevated heart rate (you can still talk but couldn't sing a song) for 30 minutes. After that, interval training or switching intensity/duration is great..keeps your body guessing.

I'd definitely go for intensity. It gives the mind less chance to wander.

....just what are we talking about here???!!! Oh... dang it! It's fitness!

JeannieOR - I wondered if my topic was too suggestive!! It is in the appropriate forum though!! ROFL!!!!

Well, today was what I was afraid of. We did the two miler, but will lower intensity. The racer in our walking group has been AWOL for two days. I am looking forward to her getting back. She always pushes us then says that we pushed her to death. My other buddy and I laugh saying that we are trying to keep up with her.

At least I am moving still.

Come on gals join me here!!!!

I'm starting school next week and I have 2 PE classes, aerobics on tue/thurs and wieght training for 45mins 3 time a week when ever I can work it in. Here I am 39yo taking aerobics with "kids". I hope I don't hurt my self. :\
