I am looking for a simple craft to be done with children ages 2-6 with an adult's help that has something to do with bathtime. It can include bath toys that are used or bath time in general. Since I could be working with anywhere from 25-40 children it needs to be simple and cannot use paint. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

This recipe makes those fizzy bath beads you can buy. You could have the older children help mix it, then roll it out and let the younger children use cookie cutters to cut shapes out (I used chocolate molds) * be sure to wrap tightly or place in zipper baggies so they don't dry out.

Bath Bombs - little fizzy bath beads!

2 parts baking soda
1 part cornstarch
1 part citric or ascorbic
Mix very well.
Add UP to 1 part olive (or baby) oil, until the consistency of pastry dough.
Add a few drops scented oil if you wish.
Form into small, golf- sized balls. Store in cellophane wrapper.
You can add epsom salts or food coloring.
Also try molding them in chocolate molds!

I was unable to use this with the children in my storytime, but my two nieces and my cousins loved it. Thanks for the great idea.

With my storytime children I decided to create a paperplate duck to go with a rubber duckie idea, plus we made bubble wands from wire and blew bubbles. (Which I was repremanded by my supervisor for, but, hey, we had fun!) :happydnc:

Well, glad you got some use out of the recipe... sorry you got reprimanded... but at least you had fun! :D That's what counts!
