He had 2 guests on there who were suing McDonald's - one was a woman who said it made her daughter fat - she claimed no responsibility for taking her daughter there for meals and for buying the food. She also said their food is addicting.
The other was a man who said it caused his heart attack - however yrs earlier his dr told him to STOP eating fast food like he was.
These people think McD's should be blatantly telling us that their food is fattening and not offering super sizing, etc.
Like Dr Phil said, do we really need someone to tell us that kind of food is fattening and/or bad for us? I think I heard the mom say that maybe if they told us the fat content that they would have ordered 1 super size meal each instead of 2 or 3?? 8o the attorney gave the example of Subway having their fat content on their napkins and claimed that if McD's would do that he would drop the lawsuit.
No one is making them eat there and they do have some lower fat options on their menu. I have also seen charts in their restaurants with fat content/info. I think it's absurd for anyone to say they didn't know the food could make them gain weight or to blame McD's for their choice to eat it. These people however are comparing their lawsuit to those against cigarette companies. They also say the advertising is aimed at kids and those kids are making their parents take them there. Hello, but who is the parent here?
Here's a link to Dr Phil's site and a little info on the show:
