Anyone had to replace a sound card?
I don't know where to find it in my 'puter or how tough it is to replace.
Any advice????
TIA

Welll..... I'm assuming that not having any sound, means it has something to do with the sound card.
If it could be something else, clue me in! Please!! :)
What kind of computer do you have?
What operating system do you have?
Do you get sound if you play a cd?
Check your wire connections from your speakers to the back of your pc. They may be loose or may have come out. Shouldn't happen but children or pets have a way. . .
Do you have the little speaker in your task bar? If so click on it and tell me what your settings are. If not go to the control panel and open the multimeadia and under audio make sure the box
"show volume on task bar" is selected. Then once you see it in your task bar go in and tell me what your volume settings are and what, if anything, is muted.
Let me know about the above stuff. If we exhaust that stuff then look below.
go to the multimedia again and click on the devices tab click on the plus by audio devices and click on the sound device and see if it says its enabled.
Go to windows help and in the search box type in "sound". You will probably have sound troubleshooting wizard options.
You may also have the option to repair sound on your system.
My sound will just go out sometimes. Have you done a restart? I would check the settings like Jeff said. If you have ME let me know and I can tell you the settings for that.
