View Full Version : No Tuesday thread yet????
ok, I'll start one! LOL
My meeting went well last night, we had about 50 ladies. They all seemed to enjoy themselves.
Have a PTA board meeting at noon today, then errands to run.
It's another rainy day here... don't I say that everyday??? I'm getting so tired of the rain. :\ On the 11th of Oct last year is when we had our first snow fall. So it could be coming soon.
I have a busy day. Several dck's coming and going today. I think I have 4 most of the day.
Tonight is open house at my dk's school and then home to do some more laundry and watch Real World! 8o

Dh is home sick today....I hate being 'off schedule' with him here. Of course now oldest ds thinks he needs to stay home bcuz he's so curious as to what we'll be doing without him. I told him dh will be in bed, I'll be at the grocery store and youngest ds will be at preschool....I think he's satisfied. LOL!
Tonight a friend and I are going to my sister's for her Tupperware party - I am beginning to feel like a groupie. ;) Dks are going to ride along and play with their cousins.

It's going to be a pretty quiet day for me today... two of my dck's are out with bad colds (probably from me) and another one will be getting picked up for preschool just before lunch... so I'll only have three kids for the remainder of the day, and they will probably be napping a better part of the afternoon. It's nice to have a quiet day like this every once in a while but I do hate to see any of them getting sick. I can consider myself extremely lucky that all of the people I do dc for are good about keeping their children home with them when they're not feeling well.
Haircuts tonight... I can't believe how fast/long my hair has grown in such of a small amount of time. I don't know why, but when I wanted to grow my hair out it seemed like it took FOREVER... and now that I don't want it long it's growing like grass. LOL We've got a wedding
this weekend and I don't want to have to worry about my (long) hair not doing what I want it to do. LOL I went out the other night and found a pair of shoes that matched my pant suit just perfectly... also found earrings and a purse. :yippee: I felt pretty lucky... as it's kind of a different color and wasn't really expecting to find anything. LOL
Trying to think of something to make for supper... and so far I'm not coming up with any good thoughts. It's cooler outside and was thinking about making something like a beef stew or hm soup... but not too sure yet. It's only going to be dh and myself tonight and sometimes when it's just the two of us it almost doesn't feel worth all the trouble. 8o 8o Anyway, I hope you all have a good day!!!
Diane...
Today is definitely a laundry day!!! I'm tired of hunting through dryer and laundry baskets for clothes for everyone! 8o Cleaning master bed and bath and then hopefully calling it quits by noon. Ds has half day today, so he'll get home around 12:30. :) This afternoon I'm planning to tackle those baby blankets that need hemmed! Wish me luck..... Martha Stewart I am not!
Tonight we're going out to Pizza Hut :licklips: with my mom and her dh, so I get out of cooking! :happydnc: How pathetic is it that that thrills me so, LOL! I think I'm rebelling against all things domestic at this point! :sillyface

Good afternoon!
Not much up here...went to school, actually talked in class today..which is good since participation is part of the grade.
Went for my second PT appt. feeling better, but still sore. AKind of a wquiet night since I got so much done last night...lol.
Hope you all had a good day:)
Actually started off great. Up early, even got on the treadmill for the first time since I can't remember when, made a big breakfast for ds, cleaned the kitchen and did a load of laundry before heading off to school.
During our block period the principal called us in to tell us that another student at the hs had committed suicide. I just don't know what is going on with these kids. We've had several kids at our school do this. Two the year before last and I believe one last year. This child's got to be in a better place now though because God know's his home life was pure hell and he was bound to end up in prison, he'd already spent time in a juvenile facility last year.
Is this a problem in other areas and I just don't hear about it, or is teen suicide on the increase, or do we have a bigger problem we should look at here. I do know that our stats on the suicide rate played a big role in our getting some grant money for some outreach programs started 2 years ago.
Pray for all our kids. Pray for this child's family.

Prayers are being said for the family and friends of this child.
To answer your question, I don't remember hearing of too many suicides around here, but our teen death poll is way up due to vehicle accidents.

That's so sad!! Prayers are being sent for the family and other kids.
It's been a long time since we've had a teenage suicide in our area. Actually the last one I remember was when I was in grade school. I think there have been more since then, I just don't remember them.
Pretty busy day here. I worked a few hours at the daycare. I really didn't want to go in. Just having one day off and I got spoiled!! I so miss staying home everyday. As it is now I can barely remember the last time I stayed home for the majority of the day.
Kids have been re-arranging their rooms and now I'm trying to get them to stay in bed.
Dh and ds #1 are at scouts but should be home pretty soon.
Tomorrow is my grandma's 95th birthday. We went to visit her yesterday. She asked us if we made chocolate chip cookies because she so wishes she could do things like that. I made some after work today that we'll drop off to her tomorrow. She still lives at home and has people that come in to help her get her meals and do cleaning.
Tried watching some of the new shows but the kids were watching that instead of getting ready for bed so the TV had to go off. Maybe I'll try to catch some after they're down to stay.
Have a good night all!!
That's awful, Kat. I haven't heard of any lately in our area.

Oh Kat, how sad. I haven't heard of any around here. I remember one in high school where the child started the car and sat in the garage. It also killed his parents who were upstairs sleeping. It is so sad that these children feel like there is no tomorrow and they have their whole lives ahead of them.
Today I was a busy little woman running from one thing to the next. Dd's preschool went on a field trip to a "farm." It was awful. Stinky goats that you fed while standing in a poop field, gag. Then to a spooky barn filled with tacky Walmart Halloween clearance items. Then you got to pick a pumpkin out of a box to take home. Yippee! lol I did stay after and made my way through a corn maze. That was fun and dd had a good time seeing "pig" corn. We brought some home and I showed her how I used to shuck it and throw it at houses. We just threw it into the street though! Probably not a good lesson for my 4 and 6 yo's huh? lol
The kids went down early to bed so I watched a little tv and jumped on here to see what you all were up to. Tomorrow is another day that I start running at 7am and finish up at 9pm. I thought I was a SAHM, what happened to the staying at home part?? I know, I know, my own fault!! Have a great night and am awesome tomorrow!!

This is my second post, I'm so sorry about the suicides in your school. I'm praying for that boy and his family. We don't have very many suicides in my school, but I hear kids talking about it all the time. In fact, I used to think of suicide a couple of years ago. I'm better now though, I've learned that life is very precious and you can't take it for granted b/c no matter what you go through in life, there is always someone out there that is worse than you.
