Hello Everyone. It won't be long and Christmas will be here. How soon does everyone start their shopping? It usually varies on me from year to year.I ALWAYS say that I am going to start in July, but it never works.LOL :D Go figure.I'll get it someday!?(

It varies for me. If I know what I want to buy someone and I find a good deal for it I buy it when I see it. I have about 7 of 20 people already done for this year and it feels great! Doesn't seem so overwhelming then when I actually have to go out and shop....and spend all of that money at once! 8o

Good question! I keep saying each year that I'm going to be *done* by October. Yeah. Right. :D This year I *will* be done by the first of November since the baby will be coming shortly thereafter. I refuse to shop with an infant!!!!! 8o

I always say I'm gonna start early...but I never do...I usually don't start until the beginning of december...I sould start earlier to make the financial burden less tramatic...lol.

Usually the credit cards just get a work out!

DH and I do all our shopping in one day. We make a date of it and have great fun. We don't worry about making it financially even. The kids get 3 presents each..like the wise men brought baby Jesus.

In the past we've always pretty much bought the kids whatever they had on their lists... within reason that is. 8o 8o We usually end up spending about the same amount on each dd, but it wouldn't matter to any of them if we didn't.

I'll usually be found running/racing around a week or so before Christmas trying to get it all done at once. 8o 8o I see a LOT of things during the year that I "should" be picking up and buying... but don't. :( Each/every year I tell myself that "next year" I'm not going to do this... and I do. Oh well... maybe one of these year's I will actually do it! LOL

Diane...

I think I started in August this year. I have quite a few little things and I have ideas for all the other things... it's just a matter of going shopping (which I don't enjoy doing). I really need to get going on it, especially the things that need to be mailed out of town.

Thanks. It really cuts down on the "gimmies" and helps to bring home to the true meaning of the holiday.

I started in August this year, but each year is different, I don't really have a set time that I start each year.

I love this idea too. Nearly too late for me to even try to implement it. But I think I will. Oldest ds out on his own doesn't look for a large number now anyway. Youngest ds said he only wanted 1 thing for Christmas this year. But it's a good one: he wants a silver trumpet. Since he's really sticking with it, dh and I thought we probably would go ahead and trade in his brass one for a silver.

I shop throughout the year, buying things I know people will like when I come across them. We buy for everyone on my side of the family and on dh's side they like to draw names.
