Well, I just thought I'd update you all on the new job I applied for last Friday. They told me they would let me know today, but they called me Tuesday after talking to my references. I took a pre-employment drug screening yesterday, and I start Tuesday morning at 8. It is with an electromechanical engineering company, but I will be the janitor. I know it doesn't sound glamorous, but I am one of the few people who actually enjoy janitorial work, and it will pay a lot more than the bakery job. I will also have some nice benefits too, such as health, life insurance (company will pay $10,00 for me, 5K for spouse, and 2K for each child), 8 paid holidays, and vacation time. It is daytime only, m-f, weekends/holidays off (no more graveyard shifts- yay!). I also don't have to wear some dorky uniform or smock or even a hat (although I can wear a hat if I want), but I get to look clean and casual. NO more hat-hair-- yaay! I also will be able to "roll-over" my 401K earnings from the grocery store into this other company's program.

Just wanted to let you all know. Thanks for rootin' for me! :)

Good for you, MK!!! :star:

I worked at a bakery and those hours killed me! I was SO happy when I changed jobs and got work "normal" hours again!

To love what you do and feel that it matters: how could anything be more fun? And better hours, better pay, better benefits, who can beat that?
