Anyone know it or at least an activity I can leave w/my Brownies to do?
I'm xeroxing the alphabet for them to make placemats out of, so maybe they'll pick up some of it later on - I thought I'd have them at least try their name.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
TIA!

I will look back through my Girl Scout stuff and see if I can find anything that we did on sign language. If I find anything, I will get back to you. :) The alphabet is probably good for that age though.

I teach some sign language to my classes...they think it's fun to sign simple short sentences. I teach them to say "No." "Yes." "You are my friend."....etc. Check out a book from the library, and put together a couple of cute sentences. The alphabet is fun...but can be overwhelming!!!! Having them finger spell their names is fun, though. (Of course, teaching them to say "I love you" is the best!!!:*

How about singing and signing a simple song.

I just finished my sign language 2 class this summer....I can't think of anything specific that you could do with them....maybe teach some basic signs for the colors or animals, maybe so signs for different foods.

One pretty go website is www.handspeak.com

or try

I'm sure your local libary should have some sign language books for kids. Good luck...let me know how it goes!!!!

I checked out books from the library and left the supplies to do the placemat thing - hope it goes well, I can't wait to hear.
