Good Morning everyone! Board seems a bit slow lately. Another day or glorious sunshine here, that is 3 in a row, lol, but still lots of snow to melt. Busy day for me, off to work then errands for dd's 9th bday party tomorrow.
I thought Survivor was a bit of a letdown last night, boy are they getting skinny, lol! Thought it was hilarious when Keith was singing "ding dong the witch is dead...."!!
Enjoy your Friday and your weekend?
Morning! Going to work out and then run some errands. We go to the ASTROS tonite!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's already in the 80's here and SO humid you can see the air! LOL
Big weekend..we have our block Easter egg hunt and breakfast in the am, then dd has soccer, then going to get her Easter dress and then ds has baseball at 6.
I am really getting worried about Tina, she looks like a cadaver!!!!

Happy Friday!! :happydnc: Although the week flew I'm SO happy it's Friday. It looks like I'm going to have a VERY slow/quiet day with only 3 or 4 kids here. I wish the weather would improve though. Although it finally stopped raining, it sure would help if the sun would come back out. :)
Shelly (dd) DIDN'T make Cheerleading for the Varsity Boy's Football squad, which was her first choice, but she did get her second choice which was Varsity Boy's Soccer, and also Varsity Boy's Wrestling... so she's very happy. :* The only BAD thing was that because she did so well during her try out's... she ended up taking the spot of her very best friend on Varsity Wrestling. 8o As if that wasn't bad enough... Katrina didn't even MAKE Cheerleading, so now she's angry at Shelly and blaming her for it. :( So now Shelly's feeling kind of guilty but as I told her... it wasn't her fault. She did good and she deserved to get it. I can certainly understand how Katrina feels too, but somebody had to go... and unfortunately, it was her. :( It has definitly put quite a strain on their friendship though. :(
Anyway... I'm going to get my butt in gear and try to get some housework done while I have the opportunity. We'll be finishing up at FIL's tomorrow... :yippee: I'll be SO happy when the FOR SALE sign goes up! (better yet a SOLD sign)
Take care and I hope everybody has a good day!
Bye...
Three thoughts ran through my head as I read your post....
1. Yea for your dd!!! :)
2. Sorry about her friend :(
3. I am SO glad that I never have to be a teenager again!!!!!!!!!!! LOL :happydnc:

Hi y'all!!
Really foggy here this morning. We are supposed to have thunderstorms this afternoon.
I am off to tae kwon do this morning and then I am running the computer lab this afternoon. It will be a full day. It has been a full week. I am ready to relax and finish my taxes tomorrow.
Ann W-have fun at the game tonite. dh and I are going next friday nite. So far the Rockies are undefeated!! :)
Maybe they finally have a decent pitching staff!!!
Diane-I am glad your dd did well. I echo Ann's sentiment-I am glad I am done being a teenager. That was a tough time in my life!!
Have a great day!!!

Good Morning!
The dks slept in until 9! The time change hasn't quite affected their internal clocks yet! :) We are working on house stuff this wknd and then heading to my mom's on Sunday to celebrate our Easter early since we'll be in FL on Easter.
Ann - LOL when I read your post to Diane - my thoughts EXACTLY! Have fun this wknd! Sounds like you guys have a lot of fun things planned!
Diane - Hope things work out btwn Shelly and her friend. Maybe once her friend gets over the initail hurt/rejection she'll realize how important their friendship is and that it's not your dd's fault. Good luck with your fil's house this wknd. Sounds like you'll be pretty experienced with all of this so you can come and help me sell my house next! LOL!
Kathy - LOL too about Keith singing the song last night! I think he was probably the happiest to see her go! :)
Have a good day/wknd everyone!!

Thats a yucky situation for your dd!! Its not easy being a teen!
Howdy!
There is a big sheet of black cloud over us right now. Colorado weather is so funky! You can actually see things rolling in and rolling out. One corner is black as hades. the middle is puffy white clouds and the other side of the mountains is absolutely clear.
Dd has a soccer game tomorrow morning and than I have to decide what to do for the weekend to keep them happy. I think we'll catch spy kids. I hope ds will sit through a movie that is not a cartoon! LOL
Dh is doing well after evicting his roommate from the room. The roommate is an adolescent in a man's body. Dh couldn't stand the 20 pairs of stinking sock on the floor and longer and kicked him out. LOL Im getting ready to send him a care package full of Survivor and Bootcamp tapes, fixins for making a pizza, pictures and homemade cookies. My Mom is sending her beloved SIL an Easter candy box with all his favorites. Can anyone else think of something cute to send along?

My Friday was pretty uneventful except for the fact that my neighbor told me that we can't borrow their car anymore. We have been borrowing one of their cars because her dh is out of town and ours has been messing up.The other day though when I was driving to the airport to pick up a friend in it, a rock flew up and hit the windshield and put a small crack in it. My dh said it could easily be fixed with some of the filler stuff, but she seems to think that it can't and said it is going to cost $200.00 to fix it. I told my dh and asked if we should off to help. He said HE@@ NO! she is crazy if she thinks that it will cost that to fix it. He said he don't know who told her that , but she is out of her mind. I know that she tends to exaggerate stories, and my dh usually knows what he is talking about, but I don't know what to do. She doesn't seem mad, so I guess I shouldn't worry about it, but it still upsets me because I was the one driving the car, and I feel like she is blaming me, and there was nothing I could do. It is not like I ran into the rock. We are leaving soon too, so I guess that I won't worry. Thanks for letting me vent. Weekend should be pretty uneventful though. I hope! LOL!

It's cold & rainy here which is good; we sure need the snow pack in the mountains. The whether rpt says the same for tomorrow which is bad because I want to go hiking in the Columbia Gorge. ...but hey, the whether guy's usually wrong so I figure I still stand a chance.
I'm going looking at apartments today. Wish me luck!
Oh...my 7 yo dd wants to be in the talent show at school. Have any of your kids ever done this?

I am so bummed! For the 5th grade talent show, I was going to choreograph my ds and 5 of his friends to "Greased Lightening" from Grease but they won't allow lip syncing this year cause I guess last year there was a ton of it last year and the music teacher didn't feel like that was "talent"! But this was going to be a full choreographed dance number!!!!!!!! :bigcry:
What does she want to do? Can they lip sync? Does she dance?
Leigh, I know this is none of my business, but I think you should fix your friends car window! I know I would if it got damaged while I was driving. If you DH can fix it for cheap, great! But you guys should fix it. JMHO.

it sound like the neighbor lady doesn't doesn't want to go the cheap route. Will the nieghbor's insurance cover a repair? Some will even if it's not full coverage.

It sounds more like a dance number than a lip sinc to me. They can do lip sics at our school but thankfully they are limited to one chorus only and they have to be "age appropriate".
DD wants to dance to an obscure instrumental she found on one of her Dad's sound tracks. It will be interpretive, bordering on performance art. This is entirely her idea, believe me. :newwink:
Ann W~ can they just actually do the number? It's pretty simple, though the lyrics are totally smutty and have to be changed (I did the show myself, and also choreographed the number for kids). I have found that kids, if they have the music in front on them and then listen to the recording, like, TWICE they know the whole thing by heart! Could be very cool! You can get the sheet music at any music store. Just a thought. Amy

That's what I thought, but I guess it's sort of gray and it might look like she was bending the rules.
How wonderful that your dd has thought of this all on her own!!!!!!!

We would be willing to fix the car if she would go the cheap route, but dh feels like she is trying to get something that she doesn't really need for free, and we can't afford to be just handing out money when it doesn't need to be spent. If it really did need to be fully replaced we would have no problem paying for it, but the fact is, it doesn't.
Jeannie
Yeah she tries this alot. She is trying to get a new windshield out of the deal. She said that her insurance would cover it if she paid the deductible because she doesn't have full coverage, but her deductible is $500.00, so that defeats the purpose. I told her I would check with my insurance since I was driving the car and we have full coverage, and see if they would fix it without a deductible. Keep your fingers crossed.

Around here there are auto glass places that will cover up to $100 of your deductable.
Sounds like a tough spot to be in. I don't blame you for not wanting to totally replace it. I've had a ding in my windshield for a year now. It's right in the middle and I can't see having it replaced unless the crack starts to spread and it hasn't in a years time. Good luck to you.

You know come to think of it I had a crack in my window repaired 3 years ago and it totally disapeared. It was about ½ inch wide. My insurance co covered all of it because those cracks are a safety hazard if they are in the middle of the windshield.
