Dh came home Monday night and said he only has 2 weeks worth of work and then the engineering jobs are done.... which means, no job for dh and probably the rest of his office.

Dh works for an engineering firm that does the eng. work for a MAJOR corporation and they have put a stop to all spending.

He came home tonight and said the head engineers had a meeting today and the looks on their faces were very solomn when they came out - layoffs may come as early as this week or the first of next.

Please say a little prayer that he'll be spared.

Ya'll are AMAZING!!!!!!! :D
Talked to dh this a.m. and he says "some positive things are happening". I have no idea what that means, but if it means he's not going to be unemployed, hey! I'm all over it!!! LOL

Ann - he's got his resume updated and I hope this is the kick in the butt he needs to get it OUT THERE!! He has not liked work since they moved the office off-site and we went through that stressful period. Once I laid out how volitile that workplace is, he realizes it's just not stable anymore.

Kathy and JAK - job leads and 2nd job - he called his dept mgr and will talk to the store mgr tonight about going full-time in case of a layoff. The dept mgr is all for having him full-time so that will take care of benefits, but his salary would have to get bumped up as well. (Home Depot takes good care of their employees, even part timers are eligible for full benefits. He's gently pushing for me to get a job there so I'd be contributing to the 401K and be earning retirement.)

Sorry to be so long winded - THANK YOU FOR THE PRAYERS AND GOOD THOUGHTS!!! I'm still keeping fingers crossed and am stressed until I hear all is well.

xoxooxoxo hugs and kisses to you all for the support - I luv you guys!!! :D

Thank you - I got a little more info this afternoon. There has been a small reprieve - the co. has released a job, but dh won't know the duration of it until tom. or next week; could be a 2 week job, or as much as 6 weeks. Either way, he needs to find a new job.

Thanks again for the positive thoughts. :)
