How exciting!!!!
It varies around here. First teeth always get a little more fan fare. She gave out $2 bills, for other teeth it is Kennedy half dollars.

Our tooth fairy is cheap-- It is just fifty cents per tooth. We'll probably give a little more, say one dollar, for molars.

How exciting. All the little milestones that makeup your baby growing up.

It was a quarter in my day.
It was a buck with ds now 12. Then his teeth quit coming out. New ones were trying to come in. Dentist had to pull 9 of them at $60.00 a pop and I still had to do the tooth fairy thing. I have some kids at school tell me they got $5.00. 8o I think that's a little excessive.

I think it kind of depends on how much is a lot of money to your kids. My kids would probably be pretty excied with a quarter or two, more excited about the visit and acknowledgement of the tooth fairy than the actual cash. You could also leave a note or stickers or something fun. Fairy dust maybe? Amy

Congratulations to your ds. Our tooth fairy gave a silver dollar for the first tooth, and a dollar bill for each one after. She slacked off a couple of times. Once (to my continued embarassment) she forgot to show up for 4 straight nights. Not a proud mothering memory.

MK- I don't think they're supposed to lose molars, so that'll be a savings. LOL

Wow... how exciting for him. When MY kids were little the going rate was only fifty cents a tooth. One of my day care kids came here last week telling me that the tooth fairy had left him $5.00, but that was only because it was his very first lost tooth. His mom told me that the rest will only be worth $2.00 a piece. I also think it depends upon what your kids consider a lot of money. If they'd be excited about $1.00 that's what I'd give them. LOL :)

My ds got $5.00 for his first tooth because we were caught by surprize and that is all I had!!! the rest of the teeth he gets a $1.00 plus one of each coin?? He told me that is what she leaves and I believed him. :-)

The toothfairy usually leaves $1.00 and some loose change.....also, for the very first tooth...she leaves a new toothbrush, and one of those small sample toothpaste tubes. Very exciting!!

I like that idea about leaving the toothbrush and toothpaste. It reminds them to keep brushing... :)

We give a dollar for the first tooth and 50 cents for each thereafter.
