Leigh,
Where in Germany are you? My sister and her family are just outside Frankfurt with my BIL who's supposed to get transferred in Jan 2002. My dd's visited her for 10 days last summer and they fell in love with... well, everything. They informed me this morning that they want to go again. Right!! :crazyroll
My sister doesn't want to leave either. She loves it, and her dd's (7 and 5) are in German schools and really enjoying the whole thing. (3 yearold ds hangs out at home!) I hope it's been great for you as well, but it's nice to hear that you're looking forward to coming back home. I think I've lost her. I asked if they'll move back to central NY when he gets out, and she said something about an ice storm in a really hot place, so I'm taking that as "probably not". LOL

We are just outside of Frankfurt too in a town called Darstadt. I can't say that I have enjoyed Germany though. It has been different, but FL is home and home is where I want to be. LOL!

Leigh,
They are in Diedenbergen (I know I didn't spell that right!). I am a "home" person like you. Every winter I complain about the cold, gray miserable-ness of NY, but when I consider making a change...for all its faults (there's nothing to do, jobs are iffy, taxes are way too high, it's winter for about 8 months), it's where I have my roots, my memories, and my heart. My sister has no heart!!! LOL I miss her and her family, but I'm glad she's so happy. It's not a life for me.

My brother in-law was stationed in Frankfurt so they lived there for about 2 years. My neice was born in Germany. They liked it there but they were also anxious to move back home... although they did say they'd love to go back and visit some time. :)

bye...
