When do you actaully start decorating your house for Christmas? do you do it the day after thanksgiving? wait a week...Until Decemeber? LOL...I am laughing because it seems so strange...like I have missed a holiday....lol...:spam:

Well Since I love Christmas and have lots of decorations I start after DS#2's birthday, which is the 15th of November. The tree goes up after DS#1's birthday which is Dec 10th.

I usually do it the wknd after Thanksgiving, but this year I am anxious to start and think maybe I'll start dragging it out and sorting thru it this wknd. My step mom said she put their tree up this past wknd because it's her only free wknd btwn now and Christmas. Dks will be thrilled and want to decorate as soon as I pull the totes out. LOL!

Christmas??? LOL

I usually try to do it the Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving. Dh usually tries to get the lights up before it gets too cold and snowy though.

I can't believe how many Christmas commercials are already on. I just saw the one for Cheese where the little girl gets tons of stuff because she left cheese rather than cookies for Santa.

Weekend after Thanksgiving for me. I'm enjoying all my pretty fall arrangements and candles right now. It all comes down Jan. 2.

Decorations around the house come out beginning of December. Tree usually doesn't go up until around the 15th.

I ususally put the tree up the weekend after T'giving or depending on what's going on, I may put it up T'giving weekend.

The freaks around here already have their freakin' outdoor lights ON!!! I passed a house yesterday w/the candles in the windows and one with all that tacky outdoor decor lit up!!!!!
I still have my pumpkin on the front porch --- supposed they'll run me out of the neighborhood???

Our townhouse complex (our rental property) has guidelines as to the dates you can put up decor and dates to have it down by --I wish we had that in this neighborhood!!

For those of you that put your trees up mid-December is it a real tree? :)

Yep.
I have never liked fake trees, but I have threatening about getting one for the last couple of years cause real trees have gotten so expensive, they lose their smell and they die so darn quickly here!!!!

We put our tree up anywhere between the day after Thanksgiving (because I am off work that day) and the second weekend in December. I DO NOT hit the malls the day after Thanksgiving.

I drove through two towns on my way home last night, and there were two houses with all their Christmas lights on, too. Just too soon for me. It almost makes it seem like some of the magic goes away if you decorate too early.

In the past we have always put our tree up on Thanksgiving day and we take it down on Christmas day. Thanksgiving day we are all home and we do it after we eat our meal. We take it down on Christmas because our dks are so busy playing with all their new stuff they stay out of the way and don't get into things!

Not sure what we will do this year with the dck's. I need to check on the rules first...

Driving to fitness from my Dad's tonight I saw a tree up in a living room window...even with a fake tree, that's EARLY! We usually get the tree and other decorations out the first weekend in December. I think this year it will likely be around the 7th or 8th.

I've seen quite a few tree's up and houses decorated already... We've got our icycle lights up on the house already... (before it got too cold to put them up) but we won't actually turn them on until at least the 1st of December. We don't usually get our tree (real) until about two weeks before Christmas... and will usually put it up/decorate it right away. I usually take it down on New Year's Day. By that time I'm usually sick of looking at it and more than ready to get it out of my house. :)

8o 8o 8o... WOW Angie... aren't you on top of things? LOL I'm so envious of anyone who has started their Christmas shopping. I'm one of those people you usually see running around crazy doing her Christmas shopping at the last minute/second. Every year I vow to start it early in the year... but it never happens. I can't believe that Christmas is only about a month and a half away. Ugh!!! Gotta get going with that shopping. LOL

By the way angie... welcome back! It's nice to see you posting again!
