ok..got sucked in and watched last night! Seems like he is really crazy about Helene, but she just wanted to win.
Also watch GMA, and he is SO into her, but you could tell from her body language that she is not. Brooke broke my heart!! And he seemed really torn up about hurting her.
He does seem like a really nice guy. Of course, I would be truly pissed if my dh had had his tongue down another girl's throat the night before he proposed to me!!!!!!

Ack! I can't believe they are still together. I think once she saw the $$ in his family she was hooked. :{ Every time he has ever tried to kiss her she talks thru the ENTIRE kiss. I noticed it again last night and then thought how ironic that the end clips were that exact thing - all of their kisses and HER talking!!! It's like she doesn't even want to be kissing him. I really think that gal has some issues and I am bummed that he chose her when Brooke and Gwen were so completely into him and had their hearts broken. :(

I really wanted him to choose Brooke. (Should have been Gwen though...) He seemed so torn between the 3 almost the whole time. I'm actually surprised that he did propose- I thought he'd do what the last guy did and want to wait and see how things when in the "real world" not the "reel world". I'm recording GMA this morning to see them. Sounds intresting Ann!

I still think Gwen would have been the better choice....I too notcied the talking through the kisses....what's with that...8o

I think his family liked Brooke better although they thought she was too young, Helen seemed so fake with them....

the Bachelorette looks interesting....I wonder....the Bachelor got to kiss everyone...and no one said a thing....will SHE get away with tounge kissing all these guys and still not be a slut?

I knew it. I just hope that he is happy. The minute that Helene saw that diamond..she was "into" him. I don't know I guess it just goes to show that a man loves a challenge..perhaps Brooke and Gwen were too "easy" for him..maybe if they had played hard to get he would have been more interested.

I guess I'm going to have to be a dissenter here. Up until the third to last show I was in Gwen's camp. Then I missed the 2nd and 3rd to last shows. Was really dissapointed to see Gwen had been cut. So I went into the final show prefering Brooke. Helene kind of reminded me of some of my family members and my best friend. Very quiet and reserved in the beginning. Then a total crackup once you know them. Sort of a witty humor. Not one to open up an declare you *love* someone after such a short time. But once the relationship grows to a meaningful point naturally they are the kind that will fight tooth and nail to keep it. She seemed like one of those people that makes a quicker connection with those of other generations. Not really surprising considering that she is a school psychologist. I wound up feeling like she was someone I could really get along with. Maybe because of the attitude similarities I was seeing with those that I love best. And because I saw some similarities to myself. There is no way I'd ever claim to be in love with someone after 6 weeks in front of a camera. I find that suspicious and Helene was the only one (towards the end) that wasn't claiming to be in love.

One point about the talking - that fits too. Talking can be a way of dealing with being nervous. Cops use that as a tactic. They know that nervous people just start rattling things off so they remain quiet to the perp feels they have to fill the dead space. In this case she could have been nervous so you either clam up (like she did in the beginning) or start chattering (like she did in the end). Especially if she is someone (like I suspect) that doesn't wear their heart on their sleeve on open up easily to everyone.

I'd really like a followup show for this one. Maybe let Gwen and Brooke be the bachelorettes. At least a one year anniversary show to find out how the final couple of women areI really did think he did a great job in weeding out the troublemakers and left the best 3. And I really admire how Brooke handled herself both at the final rose ceremony and on GMA.

BTW, when I watched the tape of GMA, DH kept on making comments about how Brooke was so much better looking then Helene. He didn't like how Helene looked at all.

Renee, I was thinking the same thing. Is Trista going to be making out with all the bachelors????

I felt really bad for Brooke...she was so hooked on him :* .

I am not sure that Helene is the right choice for him, but I think his family thought Brooke was too young for him, and Helene is already established.
