Not long ago we were at a dance (with kids) where a song was played...in the song you were given "dance step" directions. The song seemed to move pretty quickly..and it was fun to do! (Like Hop front/hop back, etc). It seemed like a very popular song (most of the kids knew it)...and I think my ds listened to it in Music class. Does anyone know either the name or artist that this could be????

Hmmmm.....I'll have to check on that one. Could be, I guess! I'll look for the lyrics, and let you know! Thanks!!!!

The song I'm thinking of kind of reminded me of using one of those video games at an arcade that is kind of a "dance" test (follow the arrows...have you seen them???).

If it's new and it sounded kind of spanish, it might be The Ketchup or Los Ketchup. Fun dance and song, dds love it! 3 sisters sing it, their father is known as "Los Tomate"!

I am pretty sure that I know the song you are talking about. I love it and I can't think of the name I will go ask some of the high schoolers that I work with if they know what it is called and who sings it. Just to be sure, does it have a more hip-hop feel/sound to it?

I think that I found it. The song is called Cha-Cha Slide. There is a second one made as well and it is called Cha-Cha Slide 2 or Part 2. I have been told that it is by two different people. Either it is by Casper or Mr. C (though I am wondering if these are the same person).

Go to amazon.com through this link if you have real player or one of those things. If you click on the song title you can listen to see if this is the one.

I think it IS the Cha Cha Slide! :D It really was fun (at the dance). Here are the "lyrics"...

Mr. C The Slide Man - Cha Cha

Clap your hands everybody
Slide to the left
Take it back now yal
One hop this time
Right foot lets stomp
Left foot lets stomp
Cha Cha now yal

To the left
Take it back now yal
Two hops this time
Two on the left
Two on the right
Cha Cha now yal

Slide to the right
Slide to the left
Take it back now yal
One hop this time
Right foot lets stomp
Left foot lets stomp
Charlie Brown
Cha Cha now yal

Five hops this time
Touch your knees
How low can you go
Can go down low
All the way to floor
Can you bring it the top
Like you never never stop
One hop this time
Right foot lets stomp
Left lets stomp

Reverse Reverse
Reverse Reverse

Cha Cha now yal

Thanks again Reesie!!

It's a great song. It was one of our camp favourites :)

You ain't seen nothin' until you've seen ~850 campers (between the ages of 2-15) and ~350 staff doing the cha cha slide together...it's a hoot
