The kids and I are going to my Uncles house in Connecticut. They will have brunch and an Easter Egg hunt. All my counsins, grandmother and aunt and uncles will be there. DH has to work Saturday night and Sunday night so he is going to make sure he is home by the time the kids get up for the Easter bunny and to go to church with us. Then it is off to bed for him.

DS broke his bunny ears today that the Easter Bunny brought him last year. And he is pretty convinced that he will bring him new ones. I sure home he still can find some. DS sleeps with them on with the ears pulled down over his eyes. He says he is a tired bunny when he does that. How cute.:bunny:

My oldest girl cousin and her dh and kids are coming in from Tennesssee (we haven't seen her dh and ds for years!!! she and her dd came in for my grandmother's funeral in Oct). She is turning 50 on Saturday, so her dh is having a surprise birthday party for her. On Sunday, everyone plus kids are coming here for dinner and Easter egg hunt.

We are Easterless this year! I have no urge to make a big dinner without dh here. We'll probably hit Golden Corral for dinner. How pathetic are we??? LOL

I did manage to get their Easter baskets together though!

hey Linda-We are heading to Brewster on June 9th for a week. Can't wait to go on a whale watch in P-Town and eat frsh seafood. My bestfriend there is a clammer and we will eat fresh clams daily! I can't wait!!!! Is there really anything for the dk's to do on either Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket? I remember Nantucket as being just a bunch of expensive shops and restaurants.

We'll be going over to my sisters house for Easter... My neice and her new dh just moved back from Carolina and so I'm pretty anxious to see them again. I'm glad that my oldest dd's schedule worked out so that she'll actually be able to make it too, without having to rush away early.

As for the other half of my family... (dck's) were having an easter egg hunt on Friday. The Easter Bunny is "suppose" to come and visit with the kids, but the bunnies grandmother became very ill, so at the last minute she decided to fly out of town for a few days. I'm not sure if she'll be back or not by Friday... so I haven't said anything to the kids yet. I don't want them getting disappointed. I've got easter baskets for each of them... along with a ton of other stuff (I'm sure that I overdid it again this year) that I'm sure they don't really need. LOL Wherever it is that everybody is doing... I hope you have a fun day! :)

bye...

We'll be in FL! :yippee:! So, the :bunny: came early for dks this year. The dks woke up to their baskets Sunday morning and we had our egg hunt at home before going to my mom's to have Easter there. They had two egg hunts and got lots of "baskets" from everyone, but they loved it! :) I have had more of a problem staying out of the candy than the dks! LOL!
:bunny: Have a Happy Easter, everyone! :bunny:

We will have the bunny here and spend the afternoon at my SILs for a potluck. Last year she did an egg hunt but I'm not sure if she'll do one this year or not. It'll be both sets of SIL/BILs and two kids. I'm not sure if my MIL/FIL will be coming or not. I think they may have changed their e-mail again without letting any of us know!

Since it is just dh and I, I am baking a ham. I will also fix mashed potatoes, green beans, and corn. I usually get him a basket and put some cute stuff in it. That is all. I might go over to a friends and watch their children hunt eggs.

We're leaving Sat. morning to go up north to my Mother's place. Stay til Mon. There is a big party at the town park and egg hunt for the kids. dh will take the kids to that. I'll just sit back and take it easy.
We have moms two sister and their husbands, my one cousin and her family coming in for dinner but it is going to be a pot luck affair so will not be too much work. If the weathers ok we'll just send all the kids out the back to play.

Tonight my dad and his wife are flying back from Florida and are going to spend the night. I will get up in the morning and go shopping with my neighbor and my mother. We were going to fly to the Mall of America but thanks to wind and rain we had to cancel. Instead we are just going to drive to a near by outlet mall.

Sunday I am having about 20 people for easter dinner and my birthday party combined. I hope I can get it all prepared since I will be gone the whole day before and have church that morning!! We will have an egg hunt for the kids of course.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend full of love and joy!!

Angie..what did you decide to serve? Can you farm out some of the food to other relatives since you will be so busy?

I am fixing a ham, turkey, mashed potato, green bean casserole, california blend veggies, corn, strawberry shortcake. My family is bringing birthday cake. We are having two desserts because not everyone likes the cake I want (Texas sheet cake), appetizers, pasta salad, bread & beverages. My mom is coming early to help me out and my neighbors are coming so if I need extra oven space it is right next door.

What's on your menu?

What's a Texas sheet cake?

I am cooking 20 lbs of brisket (in fact, I need to go in and start seasoning them tonite!) I have farmed out all the rest! LOL We are having brisket, a hot chicken pasta dish, chicken salad, cole slaw, potato salad, tossed salad, fruit salad, marinated veggie salad, relish tray and a couple of desserts (don't know what they are cause the cousin bringing them wasn't sure what she was going to make! LOL) Rather than doing a sit down, I am just throwing everything out on the dining room table and we are going to buffet it.

GREAT menu Ann... so what time is dinner? Are we all invited? LOL (jk) Just found out today that my sister wants me to bring some kind of a vegetable dish... ugh!!! My family is SOOOO picky I've got a feeling I'm going to end up bringing two or three different dishes just to please everybody! Ugh!!! Sometimes I think I'd just rather stay at home and cook my own dinner or go out to eat. LOL Hope you all have a good easter!

I guess Texas sheet cake is not a texan thing??? I thought you would totally know what I was talking about!! It is a brownie like cake in a jelly roll pan with a chocolate and pecan frosting that is melted all over the top. It is my favorite!! My dh hates it!!
