Sorry, I'm no help! I just buy Pillsbury cookie dough, and roll them out. Kind of "cheating"...but they taste yummy all the same. (And the decorating is the "best" part anyway, right?;) )

Sorry I'm no help either....I cheated too this year, doing pillsbury chocolate chip. Maybe if somone can post an easy recipe tonight I may get them done.
I hope this isn't to late for you, but this is the one I make
1 1/4c margarine
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
5 cups flour
2 tsp baking pwder
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp almond or vanilla flavouring
oven - 375 F
Cream butter and sugar, add eggs and beat until fluffy.
Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately to creamed mixture with milk. If mixture is too sticky add a little more flour so that is is easy to handle.
Bake for 8 minutes or until edges are lightly browned
makes 36-42 average size cookies
THANK YOU FERN
No its not too late...dh brought home pull apart sugar cookies...?( Not sure what I was supposed to do with those????
This will be great....
thanks again...

If your interested I can give you a very unique and extremely impressive way to decorate some of them. If you cut them out as circles I have a way to decorate them so they look like an ornament with a kaliedascope look.

That sounds neat...I just recently saw a recipe where you cut a shap in the middle of have the cookies and put them together with icing in the middle like a sandwich cookie...Ithought that was neat....I just made chocolate chip and I have so many I don't need any more....think I'll be creative next year....LOL.
