Ok...dh and I have agreed years ago that when we get our new house...we will finally buy a new bed.....we are hoping for a Queen...we have a full...that we have had for 15 years...;)

the kids have beds that are the same....not even sure where I got them...

dd would love a day bed with a trundle or a canopy :)

ds is torn....loves the idea  of the bunk beds...but is a little scared on top....but also likes the ones with the drawers underneath with the bookcase headboards....so

what kind of beds to you have????

We have a queen size bed that has a head board and a foot board (is that the right term?). We got it at Ikea and it doesn't require the use of a box spring (sure saves money there).

DS has a single bed that is metal and also has a head and foot board (it was blue when we bought it, but painted it black in the summer to match his dresser and night stand). It doesn't have anything under it, ie. drawers. We have also thought about the bunk bed with the space underneath for a desk or whatever, but he's 12 now and I think he'd outgrow it in too short a time.

We have a king, ds has a full with a spare mattress underneath for sleep overs, and dd has two twins.

We have a queen sleigh bed.
Dd has a twin and the headboard/footboard that was her daddy's.

Ann - what a good idea!! So, you just slide the extra mattress right under his bed? I'm figuring the dust ruffle would cover it.....

We have a king, I love it, it is shaker style. Dd1 has a double from IKEA, dd2 has twins that belonged to my great grandmother, they are pine spool beds, very pretty. Guest bedroom has a double.

Dh and I have a queen size water bed (it has a headboard with a mirror and two cabnits), and our spare room has a double bed in it, with a head board.

ds just offered to pay for the bunk bed with his own money, I told him this one was on me and daddy.... he also said he would just get used to sleeping up that high :) how sweet is that....dd offered to sleep up top with him until he got used to it alone.....they are killing me....I did find one that is reasonable and told dh to stop by on his lunch break and look at it....

I can't wait to get a big bed for dh and I again...we used to have a king size water bed when we first got married...but when we moved east...we sold it...:(

Gotta get a house first before I buy too much furniture....but beds for kids are pretty easy....

Dh and I have a queen - would LOVE a king!

Oldest ds used to have a bunk bed, but we took it down a month or so ago? It was twin over full and had ladders on each end. He has a full size bed now. I just got sick of the bunk and once we took it down it really seemed to open up his room. We saved the twin mattress from the top and like Ann shoved it under his new bed as an extra. :)

Youngest ds has a queen bed.

We had a king or queen waterbed a while back but dh was having back problems and was told to get rid of it. :( We got a queen size regular mattress and box springs. A few years ago we got an air filled mattress (not the real expensive kind). I haven't slept really good since we had the waterbed and I really hated the regular mattress.

Ds #3 is still using a toddler bed. Dd's have twin beds but dd #1 has a full size mattress balanced on it. We really have to replace them but we've been waiting till they completely quit wetting the bed.

Ds #1 has a full size antique bed that came from my Great uncle's auction. Ds #2 has a full size bed too but the frame is really old.

We had bunk beds dh made with toddler beds but once the girls out grew those we had regular bunk beds. I think they are a pain to make.

Dh and I have a regular double bed. Dd #1 has a canopy bed and loves it. Dd#2 has a day bed...it just uses a regular single mattress. Ds has a regular single bed with metal head/foot boards.

My sis and I used to sleep on bunkbeds and loved them. The bottom bunk was great for tent making!

Dh and I have a queen, would love a king but just can't justify the expense.
Ds#1 has a bunk with a single on top, double on the bottom
Dd has a twin with canopy
Ds#2 has a double with a twin mattress underneath.
I can't hardly believe it but we no longer have a crib, toddler bed, or guard rails. :)

Dh and I have a queen.

Ds1 (and ds2, I guess!) have metal bunkbeds (twin over twin). The top one is a BUGGER to make...I guess that's the thing I don't like about the bunks. But it works for now!

Ds2's "old" room...now our spare room/play room... has a twin bed in it. Would love to get a full for that room, so it would be more accomodating for guests.

For years dh and I have slept in a King sized water bed... and we love it!!! When the girls were younger the two oldest ones had bunk beds. The oldest one usually slept on the top but every once in a while they'd switch because dd #2 also liked sleeping on the top. I agree... they ARE a big PITA to make. 8o When they outgrew those we bought dd #1 a regular single bed... and we bought dd #2 a double waterbed with the drawers built in underneath. Those were nice because it saved room not having to have a dresser. Dd #3 has a day bed... but no trundle. We almost got the trundle because she always had so many sleep overs... but then for some reason just didn't. (We did the matress under the bed thing too and it worked just as good) Dh and I have thought about buying an air bed... but so far neither one of us is willing to give up the water bed. One of my best friends has an air bed an swears by it... but I've heard so many who don't like them... and so far am reluctant to try one.

Renee... Cute that he offered to pay for the bunk bed himself, what a little sweetie.

Diane...

We have a queen with massive Victorian head and foot boards. With the new mattress and box springs we just bought I have to get up on my toes to get into bed.

All the other bedrooms also have queen beds. Ds has Shaker style and the quest room is more of a colonial style. We'll probably be giving that you ds as a wedding gift. I'm ready for a new look in there, but haven't really decided.

We have a queen- no head board, just a bed. When we buy a house we'll get a King probably with a head and foot board.

Both dks have twin captain's beds (with the drawers) with book case head boards.

we use a double twin for us, which my b/f hates and I have to keep it organized, we have the both of us and two small children living with us in our bedroom. a bassinette helps save room, and baby will sleep in that for a while yet. My daughter's at her potty training stage, and she'll be out of the crib soon enough. But we're thinking a king. He thinks the twin is too short for his tastes, and we both love to cuddle, but when we fall asleep we need our own blankets, and our own 1/2 of the bed, or we kick eachother out of the bed. So for us a king, not only for that, but he likes soft, we want to get a number bed, because sometimes I find myself sleeping more comfy on the floor.
