and how am I ever going to get my kids moving in the morning????
They have been off of school for a total of 3 weeks (as they missed one week of school when we left for our holidays). They have had so many days that they haven't had to be up by a certain time, that tomorrow morning is going to be so hard :\
I think the worst thing will be getting them to eat breakfast at a regular time (7:30 - 8:00) . They are so used to eating at 9:30 - 10:00 :grimace:
Gonna do laundry today  , hang out with the boys, and then off to hockey tonight.
What is everyone up to today?
Good morning! I am at work, my 4th day back. It's brutal. We have 600 students to come back, today's basically the last day, and we have over 300 left to return. It's going to be busy, and soon! Just popped in to catch up on everyone's lives.
An uncle of mine passed away yesterday. I feel real bad for my aunt, but also my Dad as this is the 5th sibling he's outlived and he's the second oldest (the oldest has passed too). The funeral is Wednesday, which happens to be my Dad's 83rd birthday.
We got my nephew to come spend the night and watch our ds today as I had to work and dh left early this a.m. to go ice fishing until Tuesday night. I'm hoping ds doesn't have a hard time getting back into school mode again.

Bev- I am also sorry to hear about your loss.
Not much planned today. I am going to try and go pick up some groceries in a little while (if I can get out of this lazy mode), and then I am going to do some laundry.
I am really excited about beginning my student teaching tomorrow. The kids aren't going to be there, but it is a planning day for my directing teacher and I.
I hope that everyone has a wonderful day.

Snow! Snow! And more snow! I think we got just over 30cm!!! It is beautiful out, dks were out this morning and heading back out after lunch.
I am with you on the regular schedule thing Marla, it's going to be tough. Oh well, guess we'll manage - the key for me is to have everything organized the night before. Dd2 starts swimming lessons after school and dd1 starts riding lessons again at 6, so we will all be wiped by tomorrow night!

Bev, I'm so sorry to hear about your uncle - you'll be in my thoughts and prayers.
Did church and Sunday school - getting ready to play games w/dd and dh - dh has to hit the resume today - the company that won the bid for the work dh's company used to do, is coming to the office on Wed. to "check things out". We want to be ready to hand over resumes and whatever else they are going to want.

Back from church already...and getting motivated to head out to the store to pick up some storage containers to organize the basement. What a mess!!! We'll probably have lunch at a restaurant while we're out.
Our dks went back to school last Thursday...so we had two days to "shock" ourselves into routine again. That first day was pretty good...I actually think the 2nd day was worse for us!!! This week will be more normal, I'm hoping.
It's snowing a little bit today. Still not expecting much...but it's pretty to look at.
Sorry to hear about your uncle, Bev. :(
morning to ya....I hear ya on getting this kids back on schedual...it will be a challenge....it will also be good to be back into a routine :) I've got laundry planned and some light house work....mostly just hang out with the family....
Thinking of going back to the park to kick the soccer ball around....then back here for lunch....its only 9:00 am...dh might be up for it if we do it early... he likes lazy sunday afternoons....
Bev - I am sorry for your loss.

Bev - Sorry about your uncle.
I hear you about getting back into the routine! We have tried the last couple night to get the kids to bed at a decent time and we woke ds this morning at the time he would normally get up on a school day.
Brichard starts his new job tomorrow!!! He has gotten alot done around the house....I'm going to miss him here ALOT!!!!

Bev, sorry to hear about your uncle.
Angie, Good luck to Brichard tomorrow on his first day!
Slow morning around here. We slept in till 10. Dh and Dss #1& 2 went coyote hunting for a little while this morning. I have hamburger defrosting for dinner. Not sure what I'm going to make with it though. Probably hamburgers or maybe even tacos.
Cooked a roast yesterday and mixed up the BBQ sauce this morning so they'll have BBQ beef sandwiches for supper tonight.
I really have to get busy with homework since I have class on Wednesday.
Kids go back to school tomorrow too. I'm kind of looking forward to it, because I'll have the whole house to myself in the morning.
The kids have been getting up before 8 most every morning of vacation anyway so tomorrow they will probably have a hard time getting moving. Funny how they aren't tired when they don't have to go anywhere.
Have a nice day!! :)

Got woken up early by our neighbor this morning. They're leaving for Arizona for a few months and wanted to stop over to say goodbye, which was nice... but I kind of wish they would have come over last night to say their goodbye's and let us sleep in this morning. LOL Needless to say... I certainly didn't look my best when I answered the door. After they left I tried going back to bed/sleep... but couldn't so I just finally got up. Then dh and I went out for breakfast... came home and read the Sunday paper... and here I am. I talked with my mom this morning and she thought she was getting that bad stomach flu that's been going around. Keeping my fingers crossed that she doesn't get it. Ugh!!! Not fun.
Nothing else planned for my day today... I think I just want to sit around and be lazy today. I might try to watch a movie or find a good magazine or book to read. Tomorrow's Monday already and it will be a full week of work this week. It's kind of nice to have everything back to normal again.
Hope you all have a good rest of the day. :)
Diane...
I'm sorry to hear about your Uncle, Bev.
It's a cold day here today and looks kind of dreary out. I'm leaving in a few minutes to have my oil changed. Figure if I get there right when they open I can get in and out quickly.
Have laundry going and have some cleaning to do around the house before it's back to a 5 day work week for the first time in 2 weeks! I want more vacation! I love sleeping in! In a way though I'm looking forward to getting back into a routine and especially the kids going back to school! :yippee:
Have a great day everyone! :)
Good luck Brichard at your new job.

Good luck to everyone heading back to the real world tomorrow! LOL! We had 2 days last week. At the time I was bummed that we didn't have the whole week off, but now I am glad ds got to ease into it. :)
Got a call from the clinic today that oldest ds had strep!! 8o They were supposed to call Friday night. He's acting fine and says he has no aches or pains.
I am going to run to Kohls later and maybe the grocery store - although dh offered to go for me. We'll see. :) Dh's ass't coach is coming over tonight. Dks will be thrilled with that and he'll go home with his head spinning. :crazyroll
Bev - sorry about your uncle
Very foggy day here today, although we did make our way through it and went skiing today, owh the aches and pains that will be felt tomorrow:)
Going out for chinese food for supper, since MIL had a craving for it and is taking us out.
I too dread getting the girls up tomorrow, youngest won't be bad, but the 16yr old wont be easy!
Bev, sorry to hear about your uncle. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Vea, welcome back.
Don't think I'll have trouble getting ds up tomorrow - it's me I'm worried about. Dh slept in guest room again last night. I got up a 7:30 this morning and as flylady said I got myself totally ready before I left my room. Then I start breakfast. Planned on making bacon and pancakes. Then at 8:20 I realize that Sunday School starts at 9:00 (dh ususally makes breakfast on Sundays but he's still in bed and not going today). Then it's a mad dash for ds to get showered and ready in 20 minutes. But at least I was dressed to go.
Going to try and follow flylady's advice. I've got hot zones cleaned up, sink's clean, lunches are packed, clothes are laid out, and I actually know what I'm making for supper tomorrow. I did do some major de-cluttering this weekend. Dh carried 15 bags to the curb tonight. That's about 11 more than normal for trash day. Maybe they'll think its Christmas trash. I hate to think what I'll find in mine and dh's closet. It's a huge walk-in. Trouble is you can hardly get to the clothes for all the stuff we've stowed away in there. This is where flylady and I differed. It would take me a year to declutter 15 minutes at a time. I went a day and a half. Got 2 bedrooms, laundry room, and the kitchen done.
Need to spend a weekend doing the same to my closet at school. I'll reorganize home first.

Am I understanding right that you were dressed for church and then went to fix breakfast? I'm totally impressed!! :) :)
I can't get dressed for church until the last minute. It never fails I'll brush up against something or the kids will get something on me it I get dressed much earlier than that.
