confused with smilies

Okay, these smilies are getting the better of me! LOL
When starting a new thread, whichever smiley I click on shows up beside the title of my post....right?
Now, if I want a smiley to show up at the top of a message (for ex. this one) how do I accomplish that....because I have already clicked on the "?" if I now try to click on one to show up at the beginning of this post, it takes out the "?". Thin as mud right???
I know I can go the the "smilies" page and see how each one is typed in ex. :).....but that page doesn't give you all the options that are listed on this page......ex. smiley with heart eyes....maybe I have even confused you all now????
It is easy to add one like this :), but how do I make ones at the top (before the message) without typing ":)"?

That would be something for me to do.

If you want an to be able to have the heart smiley show up in your post, we need to decide on a shortcut for that smiley.

How about colon and asterisk ":*" ? I know that's normally for kissing, but since we don't have a kissing smiley, that might work?

Also, the first post in the thread only shows the icon on the forums page. All the replys with a message icon show that smiley at the top of the post.

I just found a problem with that worry face you set up to show up in posts...now that face appears in the middle of links I posted previously and the links don't work! LOL! Any way we can prevent that? Maybe do :worry: or something?

Pretty funny, I just found that out and came over here to reply to you!

I've changed the code to be a colon ( : ) and a backslash ( \ )

I can't think of anything that would conflict with... :\
