Meeting IB Members

Have you ever thought it would be cool to meet another member, but you just don't have the guts to do so?

I met Cathy and felt like I had known her for a long time....could kick my self in the rear end, wishing I had found a way to get to the meeting of Amy and Cathy when I was still in NY....

The funny thing about me is that when I'm on the phone, e-mailing or posting to a reply on a board like this I can be very outgoing... but in person I become very shy/quiet. (at least until I get to know you real well) I'd would also do much better in a crowd/group than I would with just one other person. I'd also be afraid that whoever met me would be disappointed that I'm not the person they thought I was. LOL When I get nervous I'm either very shy or I tend to babble on and on and on... LOL

When I worked outside of the home, I use to talk with this lady from the corporate office all the time. We got along great until we met each other... and for some reason we just couldn't talk/make a connection. She was not at ALL like I thought she was going to be... and obviously I was not at all what she expected me to be. We continued to do well on the phone... but definitely not as well as we did before. As fun as I think meeting some of you would be... I know I'd be nervous about this same thing happening again. LOL We'll see...

I definitely would. I'd love to, in fact! I was also wondering about the get together... anyone know if it's still on? Depending on the money situation, I'd like to go.
If I had the opportunity, I don't think I'd hesitate. Especially considering how well things worked out with the friend I went to Mexico with. Don't think I'd be shy with those who post frequently.

I can be at times. I'm not really good at making small talk with people I don't know. And if too many people are looking at me or listening to me at once, I get really freaked out! But with ya'll, I think it would be just like picking up in person where the posting stopped... that's how it was with my friend.

That would be so neat to meet eachother. But seeing how we all mostly live so far apart it's hard. Hey if anyone is every passing through my neck of the woods-central North Carolina we could meet. I too though am a little nervous on small talk. LOL
