Well our week started off really well....not.....

First on Moneday DH calls me from asking me to come and pick him up cause his car wont run..So I pack all 3 DS's and go get him, first have to turn off dinner.

Okay, so no problem we figure we can use just the van for awhile. I would just have drive DH to work when I needed it, since we really cant afford to get ot fixed right now.

So thats fine. Tuesday drive DH to work in the Am after we drop of DS's at the bus. I come home adn stay home all day until it is time to take DS#2 to hockey. Did that all is well. Then go tp pick up DH at work only to find out he left. Found this out after I sat there waitng for over 20min. Then I go home turn onto the highway and I hear a big bang. Thinking I hit something I pull over. Look around the van adn look at the tires nothing. so I go to pull back onto the highway and the van makes a grinding noise and hardly moves, try to back up nothing:{

So go to call my Dad on my cell, and the battery dies. Now I have to take the kids out of the van and walk to the nearest gas station. Thank god it was only a block away and also the god I had the stroller in the van. Poor DS#2 had to walk in his skates.
Get to the pay phone call my dad and DH. Dad says okay I will come get you and look at the van. DH says What did you do??Yelling it..

Dad couldnt figure why. he figured it was the transmittion. GREAT
So we get it towed to the shop. Get the call this morning it is the transmittion. The warinty(SP) had just expired too:{
The one shop quoted us $2700.00 Like we can afford that we couldnt evenget DH's car fixed. So we get it towed to the place were it got the transmittion from and they said they would give us a deal of 20% off the parts, better than nothing I guess.
They didnt even look at it today,so here we sit with no vehicle at all. Dh got a ride from his Dad to his 2nd job tonight, still dont know how he is going to get to work tomorrow.
Good thing my Grrandpa was able to drive me and DS#3 down for his shots today...

Sorry it is long just needed to vent..

So sorry about your cars. This is why I say lets get rid of the cars and go back to horses, that way when they break we shoot them and get a new one. And they generally have no mysterious parts that break and cost thousands to fix.

How frustrating! I remember when we were having van/transmission problems....what a headache!
You haven't had this van that long even.....I would ask for a better deal on the repair job....20% isn't much.

Hope things get worked out for you.

(((Rhonda)))

I thought I was the only one who had that kind of luck!!

Hope you are able to get both vehicles fixed soon!! That's one of the most frustrating things--being with out a vehicle!

Your dh got a ride home and didn't tell you not to come get him??

I hope you get a vehicle up and running again. Thank goodness you live close enough to family to help you out!

Rhonda, sounds like you had a terrible time with your cars (and your dh ;) ). Hopefully you'll find a cheaper place to get your transmission fixed.

Rhonda, bless your heart. I guess we've all had weeks when it seemed that everything that could go wrong does go wrong. Keep your chin up and remember that this too will pass.
