I know that everybody will have a different day they weigh, so I figure I'd start a week ending thread.

I was at 211 last Monday and I'm down to 208. My pants are already feeling a little more comfortable. I was really holding at 205 for a long time, but the holidays pushed me up a few pounds.

I got as low as 193 in my last efforts and I was in a size 36 pant. My 38's were pretty tight last week.... but getting better!

I've eaten really well in the last week and I'm drinking tons of water. Drinking water is so critical to a healthy eating campaign. I walked for 30 minutes four days last week at 4.0 mph and I'm doing 2 sets of ten of about 4 different weight exercises on those same days. I also got in a game of basketball last Saturday and whew! I'm not in shape for that yet but I had fun!

BTW I highly recommend Oatmeal as a breakfast food. You can sweeten with Splenda and top with lowfat yogurt. It is very good for you and extremely filling.

Go Everybody! Lose Lose Lose that weight!

I ran 5 days last week for a total of 15 miles. I want to do more, but am really trying to avoid the all or nothing mode. My goal is to run 3 miles/5 days/week until February. Then I will decide what to do.

Food wise I am not modifying what I eat. Just how much. Really trying to stop at that full queue.

Weight I am going for 1/4 pound/day. If I lose more then the scale adjusts down, if I lose less or gain the scale remains. It seems to really help because in the past I would have a goal and I could have a 15 pound differential between actual and projected. I suspect its because I am looking at a daily goal instead of a goal 2 months down the road. I am currently at 214.5.

Doing well here eating wise, haven't weighed myself so don't know how much I've lost. Exercise is just a part of my life so I don't count that as a significant change. My biggest accomplishment is that I haven't had a diet coke since New Year's Eve!!!!!!! May not sound like a big accomplishment but to me is is HUGE:D I was defenitely an addict!

How do you all stay motivated....I never really needed to work out before...until now...I'm very unhappy with this recent weight gain.

I've only tried my work out tape once since I got it for christmas!

Please share your motivational tips!

I'm down 8 pounds this week to 218. I've been doing very well, although today was a struggle. I could tell I didn't drink enough water. I haven't started any excercise yet. I will when I hit a plateau. I don't want to take it off too quickly or right back on it'll come!! :yippee:

It was a good first week!

I think the key for me is that I really only need to be motivated for about three weeks. If I make it that long with the exercise/eating routine then it has become a habit. For exercise I highly advise doing it at a set time each day, preferably in the morning before everything else happens. Routine! Routine! Routine! Pretty soon it is just like brushing your teeth.

After you eat well and exercise for three weeks you feel so much better! When I get to a good system I always wonder "How did I ever get off this in the first place?" Usually a job change or a move... something throws me off my routine and that is when I slip into bad eating and exercise habits.

I get up at 5:30 every morning and go workout before work. I have so much more energy when I do it that I don't want to give it up!

Eating is a bigger struggle for me, but I always try to plan out my eating before the day starts. If you are going to eat some pretzels or something, pull out the amount you are going to eat and put the rest away. Make an effort to round out your lunches with some healthy items. If you are going to have a sandwich, make sure you have something like an apple and a yogurt to round it out.

I am also a big proponent of eating a snack between breakfast and lunch and between lunch and dinner. If you can have a piece of fruit or something you will not have that famished feeling at lunch or dinner and you'll be less likely to overeat.

The biggest thing for dw and I is not to eat after dinner. That is usually when most of us ruin our day!

:)

Or one come up behind you, pat repeatedly at your bottom and sing, "Jelly, jelly, jelly".

I think that one of my biggest problems (besides skipping meals and not drinking enough water) is when to fit exercising into my day.

I wake up in the morning (around 7), hop into the shower, wake the kids up at 7:30, make their breakfast and pack their lunches. Kick dh's butt out of bed and off to work I go (usually out the door by 8)

Work all day, and get home usually between 4-5:30. Get home, make the kids dinner, help them with their homework, do the laundry, clean up the house, get the kids into bed and I'm pooped. Oldest ds goes to bed around 9:30 and by then there is no way I'm going on the treadmill.

Everyday after work, I say I'll go on the treadmill when...., but the time doesn't seem to come :\

Marla, I'm kind of on the same schedule as you are. If I don't excercise in the a.m. I won't do it at all.
I'm trying to make myself get up 30 mins. before dh and do my 30 min. workout. If I don't make it, I do have an 8 min. advanced workout that I do.

Believe me I know how hard it is to "Do It!!!"

I agree with Brichard that you have to set a time. I get up at 5:00am to exercise. It helps that I have walking buddies (2). They meet me and we walk for 3 miles. We push each other.

Yesterday, I felt so great. I had energy and put in a full day of work.

Today is a different story. I feel like a wet noodle. I think that I haven't drunken enough water.

It is hard at the first to get into a routine, but once you do it. You will miss it.

Good luck everyone!!!!!! Get moving!!!!

Thanks guys...I think your all right I just need to get a routine..and I guess with being out of school and all now It's just getting too easy to sit around and do nothing!!! I have to get on a schedule...I'm even starting to sleep wierd times...staying up late and sleeping away the morning. Maybe I'll make a schedule as if I had to go somewhere's.

Man That sofa has just been too confortable lately.

The only time I can fit in a regular workout is at 5:45. It is so much a part of my day now I don't even question it. We are all busy with work, family, activities, house stuff, cooking, etc, it is so tough to carve out even 30 minutes during the day, so that is what works for me.

Did Tae-Bo yesterday and today. Afraid to get on the scale this a.m. - have been eating all the wrong things - guess I'm making up for not eating anything last week. :(

My issue is not knowing when to excersize or what to do... I get up at 5:30 every morning and my last dkc leaves around 5:00. It's dark at 4:00 not to mention too cold to go outside for a walk (which I normally do in the summer). Not sure what to do...
I drink TONS of water and have no self control over sweets so I try not to have them in the house. I just eat too much!! Portion sizes need to be smaller- I know this.

I have PE at school 5 days a week. (Not much self-motivation. I need the credits.) I'm on a crazy Low fat, no meat, no dairy, macrobiotic diet to lower my estrogen level. (I cheat on Monday) I'm not real crazy about it but I lost 3.5 lbs this week.
