I know what you mean... we did it a few weeks ago and it really IS a lot of work. :) I couldn't believe how bad our carpets were until we went to dump the water out... Ugh!!! It looks SO nice now though... now if only I could teach the dog how to wipe her feet after she's come in from outside. LOL :)

Bye...

Boy that's something I really need to do around here. We invested in a Hoover Steam Cleaner (or something to that affect) It looks like vaccuum and is pretty lightweight. The only bad part is having to dump the water and add more solution more often than with the big rentals.

I still don't do the carpets as much as I should, but it's nice to have it around for those 'accidents"

I don't know if it's cause mine were so dirty but I had to dump and change after every room!

Thats something we should be doing shortly too. Don't know whether to do it ourselves or higher a prof. Sometimes you can get it done at a fairly good rate.

***teach the dog to wipe his feet***
just reminded me of our neighbour across the street.
They have a German Shepherd named Casey. While I was out the front one day last spring they had just returned with Casey from the park and were going in the house. When they opened the door to go in the daughter asked "Casey, did you wipe your feet?" The dog came back out the door wiped his feet on the mat and went back in. I had to laugh. It looked funny!

Us too. I'm beginning to think like my dh who says, "why do something, you can hire someone else to do?" It does seriously strain your back. i've done it in the past. It sounds so much easier to have a crew come in, move everything, and do it in a fraction of the time.

Gee, I just talked myself into it. I saw a flyer the other day where they'd do 3 rooms for $75.00.

I only have rugs, but I was thinking about doing them before the movers came to pack them up. It depends on how much time I have left over when I get everything that needs to be done finished. Ya'll are making me not want to though, talking about how hard it is. LOL!!!! I hate hard work!LOL! :)

It didn't work really well on my area rugs, I guess they were too thin. I have always had to send mine out.
