Well went to see the Dr. today.
He seems to think I am going through ppd...So before he goes and does a bunch of blood tests he put me on Sertraline for depression. He gave me a very low dose though. I am hopeing this works.

I am so tired of feeling the way I do...Just cant seem to get it together. Dont feel like doing anything at all...

I go back to see him in a week, to see if it is working. If it isnt then we are going to go with the blood work.....

I'm glad you went, Rhonda. Here's hoping you'll be feeling better before you know it.

I'm so glad to hear that you talked to your dr. I sure hope the meds kick in and start working soon! Besides ppd, could you be feeling the way that you are because of the weather? Yours seems a lot worse than ours and I don't know how the daylight hours are where you are at, but could it be that you might have a touch of SAD as well?

Keep us updated! :)

Hi, I know I haven't been seen or heard from in like...forever, but I just had to respond to this one!

Bizymum, so glad to hear you are finally finding out what's wrong so you can get your groove back! Last year for several months I just wasn't feeling like my hundred percent self. Kind of dragging butt, feeling so fat and sluggish, maybe depressed, but I couldn't really tell. All I knew was, I just wasn't myself, but couldn't really put my finger on any specific symptom. Finally (and my friends at work noticed the change too), with some encouragement from my dh, I went to the doctor (last November). Our first thought of course, was thyroid. So we did some blood work-- thyroid and a cbc. Went back a week later for the results. You'll never believe it-- I had a vitamin B deficiency! (look up megaloblastic anemia) I was astounded because I try to eat a lot of leafy green vegetables. So he told me to get a mega-dose vitamin supplement, and try to get outside for a walk everyday. We also discussed depression, for which I wasn't quite willing to take antidepressants for. I went back for a follow-up a month later, and was glad to report I was feeling a lot better-- more energy and ambition, but I still was noticing some depression with a cyclical pattern to it. He said that sounded like pmd-- and suggested a low dose of Prozac-- to which I finally agreed, since I didn't feel it was fair to others to experience my mood swings, and I certainly didn't like myself! Oh, my gosh! I feel sooo much better! Next month sometime I will have another blood test, and make sure I am truly absorbing the vitamins, but I am sure I am, because I am feeling so much better!

Anyway, I wanted to tell you, it usually takes about a month for that medication to work, and you might want to go through with a simple blood test or two anyway, just to make sure you don't have something so simple like vitamin deficiency or thyroid problems.
